Social Justice
Social justice is how we help those in our community, as a teacher our role is to offer the best and fairest education to all of our students, to be fair and model equality in the classroom, all students need to have the same educational opportunities and one student should never feel left out or left behind. “Diversity, equality, and social justice are the foundation for education that is multicultural” (Johnson, Musial, Halle, Gollnick, & Dupuis, 2005).
One issue in the classrooms is that many teachers have limited experience and knowledge about other ethnic and religious groups other than their own. In order to offer the best education to a multicultural classroom a teacher must first educate their selves on different ethnic groups and religions, by doing this the teacher can offer better education to their entire classroom as a whole. As a teacher, I would offer different group projects that would be based on different cultures and religions, by doing this it allows the students to interact with one another and help educate one another on the different cultures.
It is important that children learn at a young age about acceptance and appreciation for others, this can start in a classroom. Having areas of education based on the topic of acceptance is a great way to start, the more that a child understands about other cultures and religions will allow them to except someone for being different than them. In today’s society a classroom is filled with children who are different than one another, whether they are different because of their race, raised poor or rich, raised by a traditional family or a nontraditional family, children need to be taught that these are the things that make them unique in their own…...

...Should Special Needs Students Be Exempt from Graduation Test Misty A. Clark AED/200 September 16, 2012 Kimberly Jackson Should Special Needs Students Be Exempt from Graduation Test The debate of should special needs students be exempt from taking Graduation tests has been going on for years. There are facts in which shows these students should be exempt from these test because these test are based on normal students’ knowledge. The standardized test is based on what normal students have learned and on their comprehension skill. Special needs students should not be exempted from taking this test to graduate because it will help with their self-esteem and also will give them a higher level of knowing what they can achieve. The Bureaucrats and Politicians who passes these education laws on which test the students has to passed to graduate or even which grade they need to be in don’t put into consideration on students with special needs or students who haves English for a second language. Bureaucrats and politicians has padded a law called “No Child Left Behind” in which is telling the schools for any reason no child should be left behind and are not giving the school districts the freedom to achieve this. This is putting a lot of stress on the principal, teachers and even the students because there are some students who work at a slower pace than others and the school system is not achieving the score they need to be achieving. Some of the school system is......

...Classroom Management Krystal Alford AED/200 March 31, 2013 Melissa Randolph An Effective Classroom Management Workshop Workshop Presenter: Krystal Alford Organization, Motivation, Discipline, and teaching style Organization, motivation, discipline and a teaching style are all essential elements of an effective classroom that acts as a positive learning environment for students. Classroom organization can affect how students learn and your own ability as a teacher to reach the students success. I set up my student’s desk where everything is visible to see, and I creatively use my classroom space to enhance the learning experiences of my students. Motivation should be major factor in a teacher's management of learning and behaviour in the classroom. In my classroom I use positive feedback and encouragement to help keep my students enthusiastic about learning and motivated to work during class. Discipline is also element essential for an effective functioning classroom. In my classroom we as a group set our classroom rules and actions for breaking them. The way you teach can be analyzed into different teaching styles and developing an effective teaching style requires time, effort, the willingness to try different teaching strategies. I use the facilitator teaching style where I focus on the activities; this style is centered on student-centered learning. ...AED 201 Managing a Daily Teaching Schedule Below are three tips that I have found that will help me keep my schedule the same and help manage my time within my classroom. 1. Create a consistent classroom routine/schedule that students may grow accustomed to. 2. Use small blocks of time wisely to make sure you can get all productivity done and also lighten the work load that one has for after school hours. 3. Assign manageable classroom task to students, teaching assistance, and or student teachers. As a potential educator these tips will really impact how my schedule will be in a positive manor. To me there never seems to be a lot or enough time in a school day to cover everything that a teacher wishes they could. Unexpected things happen all the time in school that can interrupt what was being taught and how much time should have been given to be taught. This is why it is very important that teachers have excellent time managing skills. With such skills teachers many provide the most productive and stress free environment that can for their students. Having a well-organized classroom and a consistent daily schedule will help limit unproductive time that should be spent searching materials. In my opinion an organized classroom is honestly a happy classroom. Delegating classroom tasks to students and teaching assistance will help reduce stress but also can help free up small blocks of time that teachers can squeeze in prepping, grading papers, and taking......

...Multicultural Education Scenario A teacher’s job is to offer the best education possible to all of the students in the classroom regardless of their race, sexuality, backgrounds and needs. As a second grade teacher in a multicultural classroom teaching second-graders it is important that I offer education to my students about diversity, social justice, and equality. “Diversity, equality, and social justice are the foundation for education that is multicultural” (Johnson, Musial, Halle, Gollnick, & Dupuis, 2005). Educating myself, as a teacher must be the first thing that I do, many teachers have limited experience and knowledge about other ethnic and religious groups other than their own. As a teacher of a multicultural classroom for Happy Valley Elementary School, I have 21 students to teach, 7 are white, 5 are Latino, 4 are African American, 3 are Native American and 2 are Asian. This is great because it will allow all of the students to participate with each other and learn from each other. Due to my classroom, have 4 students with special needs and one in a wheelchair I will make activities that accommodate them as well, so that all the children can participate and not one student feeling left out. “Education that is multicultural provides equity in the curriculum, in relationships between teachers and students, in the school climate, in staffing patterns, and in relationships with parents and communities” (Johnson, Musial, Halle, Gollnick, & Dupuis, 2005). ...Assignments MGT200. Business Basics Mgt 200. Business Basics Mgt 200 Assignment 4 One of the driving goals of entrepreneurs is to start up a company, and then take it public through an IPO (initial public offering). Is the prospect of realizing great gains by going public that feeds the venture capital frenzy. During the dot-com glory days, many companies with no revenues – indeed, with prospect of revenues in the foreseeable future – went public and consequently made their investors very rich. The Washington Post article provided below offers a story of a company that has just “gone private” after being public for a number of years. The story makes it clear that there is nothing automatically good about going public. In fact, for serious businesses, there can be important drawbacks. Read the article carefully, and then bring together your business wisdom to answer the following questions: 1. What was the driving force for Deltek going public in the first place? Was there merit in this logic? 2. What advantages did Deltek find in going public once it became a public company? What disadvantages did it face? 3. What distinguishes Deltek from the dot-com companies that rushed to go public? Why did those companies go public? Who gained? 4. Why did Deltek decide to leave the public arena and become a closely held corporation once again? Do you think its management made the right decision? Your response should be no longer than three pages (single spaced......

...AWhy I became a teacher Doctors, lawyers, politicians, and engineers, how did they all get to where they are today? No matter the position someone may hold in society everyone has progressed to where they are in life because they had a teacher, someone who taught them in the way they should go. Teacher as defined in the dictionary as one who instructs. To teach someone is to communicate skills and give instruction. Everyone has gotten to where they are in life because they had a teacher. The lives most impacted by teachers are those of our children. Teaching makes a difference in children, because it gives them tools to help them be successful in the future. Our children are our future, and they need to be prepared for the future in order to be successful in the working world. The future of our communities and even our nation lies in the hands of our children. The quality of men and women we develop will impact the future of this nation. Therefore, I see teaching as one of the best ways I can help create a greater tomorrow for our great nation. I saw that the great teachers were good at explaining content, were patient, yet firm with students, were always fair, set high expectations, knew how to motivate us, and used humor appropriately. They were excellent communicators who had a command of the subject-matter content they taught. I wanted to be like them, to be able to do what they could do, and yet I understood that I would have to forge my own style of teaching that......

Next I will analyze the specific actions that the leadership of the selected Sierra Leone has taken, through the use of its foreign aid from donor nations and international lending institutions, to relieve the severe problems caused by warfare. Lastly I will discuss whether or not the extension of foreign aid has successfully reduced poverty and the incidence of warfare in Sierra Leone. The country that I decided to write about is Sierra Leone because it is one of the developing country in West Africa. They had a ten year civil war that ended in 2002. In May 2002 Sierra Leone voted for a government that would rebuild and restore order to their country which laid in ruins. With peace came foreign aid experts (Book Reviews, 2006). The positives of this civil war is that Sierra Leone developing democracy that has made notable economic gains. It now contributes significantly to United Nations peacekeeping operations, including the UN Mission to Darfur (UNAMID). It also is emerging as one of the most stable countries in a volatile region. The government also has passed one of Africa’s toughest anti-corruption laws, made high-profile arrests, and secured......

It has been made into so many different types of areas that there has become a lot of debates and discussions about education. Today there are so many topics of concern when it comes to education that we do not even know where to begin. This is way there will be always an ongoing debate topics that circle our education system. One of the many topics that is has caused a debate discussion is whether or not education should be relevant to tomorrows job market. There are two types of groups that have different opinions in this subject matter. The Perennialist’s believe that all students should be thought things of everlasting importance.
