Any successful business today must employ strategic planning for major projects that the organization may undertake. Implementing any successful strategy will escalate employee awareness, shape your brand, engrosses your community, direct traffic, and in due course an organization’s revenues. These plans or projects and their strategies depend on “tactics” in their conception, development and implementation if they intend to be launched and executed with robustness and evoke successful results in the end. When we begin to develop your high level strategy will discover that there are numerous strategies will straightaway arise. In fact, we may realize that even up a dozen diverse, comprehensive strategies that will attain our objectives. As such, one should remain in maturing all the conceivable approaches available until all options have been fully exhausted.
Still, there are a number of major barriers which can prevent high level strategies from being implemented within an organization. And, perhaps the most common issue is reluctance from employees, which can sometimes morph into outright hostility towards the change. Perhaps, this hostility may come from fear being rooted in resistance to change. Throughout phases of change, many employees can develop the desire to adhere steadfastly to the past since it was a more secure place from them; a more predictable period. When what they did in the past they become comfortable or even experts level with what worked well for them, they may become inclined to become resistant in altering their performance out of anxiety not be able to accomplish as much as they in past with new implementations, When lower level employees do not support the strategy, the strategy stands a much lesser chance of meeting its goals. A recommendation for dealing with this barrier is to open up the lines of communication with the employees,…...

...Victoria and Albert museum, as part of the assignment I found it was quite difficult to work out whether it was the marketing department or the public relations department behind certain things such as events. I found it difficult to distinguish the organisations ‘owned’ channels and the ones ‘bought’ by the V&A but after further research and through looking at their website this became more evident. Further on into the week I had my first PR workshop which started with a task to write about my style of writing in a time slot of 5 minutes. This related to the task in my PR Professionalism seminar which was to figure out my own learning style, and work on both my strengths and weaknesses. This task has actually helped me with writing this blog as instead of procrastinating over what I’m going to say I just start writing and then I find it’s easier for ideas to flow. Later on I was introduced to writing press releases and was intrigued to know whether I would be taught how to write them in the same style that was used at The Fashion Retail Academy. Learning the inverted pyramid writing was new to me and I found this an easy structure to follow along with the 5 w’s (who, what, when ,where and why). However, when I had to find my own example of a good and bad press release I really struggled with finding a bad one and actually finding websites with a press department. Entry 4 Week 3 My ‘Exploring Public Relations’ book by Tench and Yeomans has arrived and from......

How Copywriting Can Improve Your Blog Posts

... How Copywriting Can Improve Your Blog Posts You may not know it but you may have applied a few copywriting methods in your blogging. When you are good in getting your message across and influence your target audience to follow your call to action, then you are making use of copywriting techniques in your blog. The successful posts are those who can capture the attention of their audience from start to finish. Now, consciously this time, how can you make your blog posts more hardworking with copywriting? Headline – Now, what makes you read a print ad? It’s because you were captured by the headline. That also works with blog posts. You have to get your reader hooked into wanting to read the rest of the piece because you have intrigued them with your headline. You don’t have to be really creative. Just be clear with the benefit of the reader in the headline. Make your reader interested by giving them a whiff of what’s in store for them in the post. Easy to read and understand – Copywriters make their ads crisp and snappy. Bloggers should do that too. Don’t drown your important message with useless words. Make your content valuable and relevant and make them see that right away. Make them want to read more – Start with questions or situations that are relevant to them. Whether it is a problem that they are going through or something that they have been hoping for, they should be able to relate to the post at the start of your writing. Then tell them why your content is......

Blog Assignment

...BLOG ASSIGNMENT INTRODUCTION This is a blog assignment where we get to create our own blogs and use social networks to get audience to our blogs. Here I will be giving background information of my blog and what forms I used to get it out there as a marketing strategy. I will also give a brief report on the success of my blog. My Blog named second chances is a platform for me to share my life experiences with other women and be a light to young women so they could learn from them. Life takes us through so many phases and with this blog I share and teach how we can sustain ourselves by tackling life issues using the bible. Second chances came to being because of my situation which I believe is a matter of a second chance. I thought by this name I will give hope to others that indeed God does offer second chances. This is how I introduced myself in the blog: I am a mother, a wife and a student at University of Cape Town. I believe in second chances as I am a testimony of that. Everything that I am is through the grace of the Almighty and therefore I am humbled. I was in a stage in my life when I was about to give up but God stretched His hand over me, so now I can’t stop but sing songs of praise. With this chance provided to me I intend to be a good server of God by giving free lessons about life to my fellow christens.   The blog is about my daily encounters during my journey of life, I talk about almost anything be it news, stories or lessons that needs to be told.......

...Law blogLaw Blog Analysis Case #1: Fleury vs. Intrawest Winter Park Operations; court of appeals of Colorado, case was decided on February 13, 2014. Facts: Christopher H. Norris was killed by an avalanche while skiing at Winter Park Resort. Wife and Salynda E Fleury sued the defendant, Intrawest Winter Park Operations. Ruling was that an avalanche is an inherent danger or risk of skiing and therefore Intrawest cannot be liable for Norris’s death. Rationale: Intrawest cannot be forced with any liability because they themselves did not cause the avalanche. This will make the party who was taking part of the activity (Norris) responsible. By Norris going skiing he is assuming the risk of a potential risk because skiing can be hazardous and dangerous. Blogger’s reaction: Blogger agrees and affirms that an avalanche fits the definition of inherent dangers and risks of skiing. Those dangers or conditions are part of the sport of skiing. The Ski Safety Act does not require ski area operations to warn skiers of possible avalanches or to close slopes with avalanche danger. My thoughts: Ski Resort is not liable; while it was unfortunate he died he assumed the risk of skiing by choosing to do so. Also it was not required for resort to post warning signs of avalanches. The resort should not be liable for anything. However; the Ski Safety Act should be revised and requiring ski operations to warn about possible avalanches. Case #2: Moore vs. Minnesota Baseball Instructional......

Proposed Marketing Plan 5.1 Target Segment 5.2 Positioning 5.3 Strategy 5.4 Conclusion 1. Market Analysis The repositionable notes market is made up of paper or tabs with adhesive, which allows the product to be stuck on surfaces and moved, without leaving residue. They are also known as ‘sticky notes’ and the idea was first conceived by 3M innovators. Post-it, the original inventor of ‘sticky notes’ have seen other competitors entering the market, yet having little success in toppling Post-it as the market leader. This is especially so in Singapore, where most of the brands shy away from competing head-on with Post-it, by differentiating their products. 1.1 Market Environment 1.1.1 Technology The ease of accessing wireless networks via Wireless@SG, since its introduction in 2006, has led to a surge in consumers switching to 3G phones. The implications of this on the repositionable notes market is that gadgets like phones are increasingly being used as a substitute in place of sticky notes, in reminding people of certain events or things. Instead of physically placing a post-it on the desk, people choose to set reminders on their phones, with alarms. People also choose to send short......

...Student’s Name Institution Course Date Reaping Rewards from Celebrity Endorsements Everybody in the neighborhood had been waiting anxiously for the Saturday afternoon to arrive. Coca-Cola had advertised via posters in the neighborhood that they would be hosting an event in the local social hall with Taylor Swift as the guest performer. As one of my favorite artists, I could not imagine missing this once in a lifetime event, especially considering the close proximity of the venue to our home. Taylor Swift was gracing the event as a brand ambassador for Diet Coke. The Saturday afternoon was very lively. Many attendees were teenagers and young adults from all demographics. There was one large billboard in the stage where Swift performed and other small diet coke logos throughout the venue. The performance by the celebrity was thrilling. Amid performances, Swift would point out some benefits of Diet Coke and the ecstatic crowd would reply with huge applauds. Even though I was not able to interact with Swift, I managed to speak with the event organizers and got useful insights regarding the importance of celebrity-endorsed advertisements especially to target groups that are familiar with the celebrity. I learned that this marketing strategy is important for attracting new users, influencing consumer purchases, building awareness, positioning a brand as well as building life into a falling brand such as Diet Coke that was the main product advertised during the......

...dabble, has the slightest interest in the philosophy of science. So let me make a strong statement, if I haven’t been strong enough already. Philosophy of science this century has contributed zero to the understanding of the scientific process. That doesn’t mean to say it hasn’t had odd little influences here or there. The fact that I think in the bath and may do well doesn’t mean to say that baths are very important for science. Can I quote from Steven Weinberg, a very distinguished physicist who wrote The First Three Minutes. He says that he is an unregenerate working scientist who finds no help in professional philosophy, and that he’s not alone in this. He knows of no-one who has participated actively in the advance of physics in the post-war period whose work has been significantly helped by the philosophers. It just is irrelevant. AS Can I just ask for one point of clarification? You said that actually philosophy has nothing to add to the sciences and that philosophy of science is not a meaningful enterprise. Do you think that we should do away with philosophy altogether? Or is it something that should be reduced to a very minor exercise which can somehow exist on the periphery? Or should we just give up? [laughter] LW No, I think you can continue in exactly the way some people like to talk about art-history. It’s all terribly interesting if you like that sort of thing but don’t think it’s an important enterprise, for goodness sake. [laughter] AS Thank you. Finally,......

...In a short span of five years, blogs have invaded our culture and left an indelible mark on society. From Politics to Journalism, blogs are reshaping our notion of how content is created and information is disseminated. Before the popularity of blogging and the internet the main sources of news were television and newspapers. The content and perspective of the news was decided by the media. It was easy for them to stretch the truth, omit important issues, portray problems as more or less serious than reality, and show the point of view that they wanted the public to see. The internet changed the way our news was delivered, and blogs in particular have affected the news industry greatly. Unlike before where some executive decided what the country should and shouldn't be told about, it is now possible for any individual to publish news on the internet. This has changed the news industry dramatically from a consumers point of view. The executives can still try to control which stories are published and which point of view to portray, but online we can find the real truths more easily. Not only can we find out what happened from various view points, we can read individual people's thoughts and feelings about the stories. We can see what various experts think about situations and events, as well as the general public opinions. Another benefit for consumers is that we can filter the types of news we choose to read. Television news often shows world events, sporting events and a......

...24-hour challenge of Internet disconnection Last Sunday, I had an experience which I challenged myself – I asked myself not to communicate via the Internet for 24 hours in order to see how I would feel without contacting with the world through the Internet. I decided to stay disconnected with the social media in a day, the challenge started at 8am on 14/03/2015. This blog entry is to show my activities within the challenge. 8.00am (14/03/2015) I woke up and turned off wifi and mobile data completely. I did not turned off my cellphone because I love taking pictures, I want to capture moments of life – therefore I can use camera of my cellphone to make it. 8.30am It was considered early to me to wake up at this time. I got out of bed and did my personal hygiene in the morning. Turned back to my room, I decided to clean my room after busy weeks with schoolwork. Normally, I use my phone to check out my Facebook and messages, but I did not do it. I was quite satisfied to see my neat room. 9.15am I was hungry, I made instant noodle as a breakfast. I started feeling uncomfortable without using social media. Well, I really wanted to make it, so I continued the challenge. 10.00am After eating and cleaning stuff in the kitchen, I played some nice and sweet pieces of music on the piano. I really enjoyed it and did not think of what was happening in the social media. I played for 2 hours which made me have a calm mind. 12 noon I felt that I should check out my media account......

...update about Blogspot to Google’s Security Blog http://googleonlinesecurity.blogspot.com/2015/09/https-support-coming-to-blogspot.html. Since 2008, we've worked to encrypt the connections between our users and Google servers. Over the years we've announced that Search, Gmail, Drive, and many other products have encrypted connections by default, and most recently, we've made a similar announcement for our ads products. In this same vein, today we're expanding on the HTTPS Everywhere mission and beginning an initial rollout of HTTPS support for Blogspot. HTTPS is a cornerstone of internet security as it provides several important benefits: it makes it harder for bad actors to steal information or track the activities of blog authors and visitors, it helps check that visitors open the correct website and aren’t being redirected to a malicious location, and it helps detect if a bad actor tries to change any data sent from Blogger to a blog visitor. While this initial rollout won’t support all of our Blogger users, we wanted to take the first step to make HTTPS available for Blogspot; for those users who want to try it early. We’re rolling this out gradually and Blogspot authors interested in enabling HTTPS support can begin opting-in today. Simply log into http://www.blogger.com, click on the blog you’d like to make HTTPS enabled, navigate to the Settings page, and select "yes" for "HTTPS Availability". Unfortunately, blogs with custom domains are not supported......

Blog Analysis

...Mary Cagle Feministe In 2001, Lauren Bruce founded Feministe as her personal blog to use in exploring feminist theory. Since then, Feminste has grown into a network of about five main authors and many guest bloggers. Feministe features a broad range of topics in order to “foster a dynamic, robust, progressive and inclusive feminist community,” according to the mission statement. This blog reaches a large audience; the twitter account @feministe has 23.7K followers, but they did not gain a following by taking the easy way. Many Feministe posts thoroughly examine events and people and the way they affect women around the world, and they are not always nice. Even their tagline, “In defense of the sanctimonious women’s studies set,” is a sarcastic response to a male blogger dismissing feminism. Along with the regular posts, Feministe has threads engaging their audience like, “shameless self-promotion Sunday” where the blog followers can post their own stories, “signal-bosting” threads where bloggers can post links and share other articles, and “spillover” threads for more discussion on a certain topic in the comments section. The latest post, a response to the report on Rolling Stone’s handling of the University of Virginia rape story, was very eye opening and provided a different perspective. In November, Rolling Stone released a story about a rape on the UVA campus. The victim, called Jackie, wished to remain anonymous and also did not release the name of her rapist.......

...1. Post One: Write a narrative from your school experience that encapsulates an important lesson you and perhaps others were able to learn. How did/has this experience shape (d) you? Refer to Chapter Three for ideas to help generate your blog ideas. Chapter three presents various lessons that a student like me can be able to learn from and relate to. My school experience in is rather diverse since living in a multicultural city like Miami, I interact with people from different ethnic backgrounds and learn a lot from them. Their languages, beliefs, traditions, culture in general. There are several experiences that emerge from this chapter that encapsulate how I feel and what I have learned through time; but the experience that seriously shaped me as a student and even though the story is somehow sad, taught me a great lesson about hope and never giving up. This was when I had already given up going to college after almost not being able to graduate from high school since I had to start working full time at 16 years old to be able to economically help my family. I couldn’t bare so many responsibilities being so immature. The intensiveness of the work and school at such a young age truly made a big difference in my life. It made me a more responsible and mature person. I had apportioned my time to play an important role in shaping my family at the same time playing a role as a student and as an employee. Just like soldiers in the field, I have struggled a great deal to......

...TITLE: Turn That Frown Upside Down or (Good ole Lemons)--- which do you like better? DATE OF POST:: TIME OF POST: (either 8 AM or 12 PM- please reference your editorial calendar from training) AUTHOR: Liana E’Akels IMAGE or CONTENT: “When life hands you lemons make lemonade” is a common saying heard by many. Growing up I experienced many “lemons”, but I also learned many valuable lessons. The lemonade was always the fact that I was able to take away something positive from every experience and grow from it. Seeking the good in a bad situation has always been something I’ve used to pull through many struggles. Whenever things didn’t go as planned or the unexpected occurred I tried to turn it into a learning experience. Being negative never solves a problem but only makes it more difficult to endure. Surrounding oneself with positive energy and supporters also makes the lemonade even sweeter. When you dwell on a situation and make it an excuse for why you can’t do something you’re the only one holding yourself back. You don’t need sympathy to make it through hard times but empathy. These two words may seem similar but have very key differences. It is much like the saying “misery loves company”. Those that are sympathetic are essentially helping you dwell in misery, while those empathetic try to understand your situation, but also help you realize you have to push through it and move on. Instead of feeling sorry for myself when things took a wrong turn I......
