Ethical Dilemma Analysis
In a situation like this I feel as if this is totally unethical. If I was running short on my weeks treatment units to meet the requirement I would go talk to whomever was above me so we can sit down and talk about why I am running short and set goals for the next upcoming week. In this situation you are affecting the client because you are billing for time that has not been used and you have nothing to back that time up because during this time you were not working with the patient. The client is receiving "free services" today so you would not only be affecting the company, but you yourself have lied about time that you have not done and you are billing the patient for their "free service." The conflicted values and areas of agreement are being broken because you have a commitment to the company that the time that you bill for is time that you have actually been working or doing actual therapy with the patient. As far as the outcomes for this situation, you are going to get paid for the time that you bill but the negative outcome is that you have not been honest and you are at risk at being audited. Also if someone were to find out then they could file a complaint on you and you could risk your license to practice. The patient is being billed for "free services" so they are being negatively impacted. If this were to happen to me I would talk with whoever is over me to see if possible to see another patient before Thursday and if not then I would just be honest about the situation and work harder the next work week! I would definitely not take a chance at losing my license to practice therapy over 1 unit when I could just be honest and know that going forward I am going to have to try and work as much as possible for each minute that I am with each patient to avoid this problem from occurring again.

...1) The important of separation of right and duty between shareholder and management. Delima Enterprise Sdn. Bhd. was a large company due to these reasons; the company had been awarded with several engineering projects and its cumulative revenue for 2004 and 2005 were nearly RM 1 million and RM 1.7 million respectively. By referring that reasons, we can say that it was a large company. As a large company, the shareholders are separated from Board of Director and management. However, in this case, there is no separation or segregations of rights and duties between shareholder and management. Segregation of right and duties means assign two or more competent and qualified individuals in a way that provides reasonable assurance comply with the standards. It means, at any time , no one person should be in position of doing the primary functions of authorizing, recording and taking care the custody of assets. Besides, shareholders and director have two completely different roles in company. Shareholders are owner of the company while director manage the company. From what we can see in this case, Encik Zayed is the shareholder of Delima Enterprise Sdn. Bhd., in the same time he act as Managing Director. Meanwhile Puan Hashimah is the shareholder of Delima Enterprise, in the same time she act as Chief Operating Officer. Before the company hire Cik Amy as Finance Executive, Puan Hashimah was responsible for all finance related matters. There is clearly stated that they do not......

...Ethical Issues Christina Elizabeth Dave Introducing... What is ethical is not always right, and what is right is not always ethical. In a work environment, people will do just about anything to not only keep their jobs, but to go above and beyond the tasks at hand. Ethical Issues arise at the work place, when they are put to the test, the outcome is executed once the person has made a choice in which direction they will go. Whether it is being asked to do a job that is unfamiliar, or invited to a party with clients, when a favor is asked, or even thinking about helping yourself better in the position your in, ethical issues will arise. Without the proper training and work experience it can be hard to determine right from wrong when different situations are at hand and being compromised. Case Number One We are going to need to bring in the troops! This situation calls for some reinforcement. If the worker does not have the proper training and knowledge, then she might not perform her new duties to the best of her ability. Covering for someone else’s job duties is hard because the expectations as well as doing the job correctly is hard. When the unexpected occurs, and a coverage is needed in an area that may be foreign to another member of the staff can be difficult for fear of responsibilities and duties that are uncommon. Concerns that I have about this issue is the tasks at hand that the worker may need to accomplish. Not having the proper training and......

...bulletins (DSU Graduate Catalog, p.28). The IMA Statement of Ethical Professional Practice is very clear on the importance of ethical behavior it expects. IMA has overarching principals that include: honesty, fairness, objectivity, and responsibly. The IMA believes that all members should adhere to these principles. Under current IMA ethical guidelines, it would not be ethical for a student to use a solutions manual on the take home exam. Three of the above mention principals apply directly to this situation. Honesty is defined as fairness and straightforwardness of conduct by the Merriam-Webster dictionary. Using a solutions manual would not be an honest representation of work completed by the individual. The definition of fair by Merriam-Webster dictionary states fair as agreeing with what is thought to be right or acceptable. The use of a solutions manual would not be considered either right or acceptable under IMA ethical guidelines. Responsibility can be defined as something that you should do because it is morally right (Merriam-Webster dictionary). As a member of the IMA, a student could not consider it morally right to use a solutions manual on a final exam without permission. ...My Personal Experiences With Ethical Theories January 29, 2012 Ethical theories can be thought of as broad philosophies attempting to classify good and bad behaviors in the human drama.  Ethical theories such as subjectivism, relativism, egoism, utilitarianism, and deontological philosophies all serve as frameworks for observing behavior and experience. Making decisions calls for choosing which ethical theories the decision is made with. In my life, I have seen the ramifications of ethical relativism and the affects this ethical theory has had on the health of my friends, family and me. (http://www.uah.edu/colleges/liberal/philosophy/heikes/202/IntroEthicalTheory.pdf) Ethical relativism affected my upbringing as a kid. My grandparents picked up the consumer psychology of mass marketing and abided by the messages it taught them. They passed these ideas along to my parents who in turn raised me and my siblings in the same manner. Thus, ethical relativism affected my upbringing as a kid. Consumerism has played a large role in my life, from television to the cereal box. There was a consumer paradise in the days of my youth as we would stroll along the shopping malls, department stores, and fast food chains. We ate junk food and went to the hotel swimming pool for holidays. Everything was okay because my parents never said it wasn’t. Society said it was okay too. Junk food, the swimming pool, all okay, nothing to worry about. Everything was fine back then when I was a kid, as......

Approaches to Ethical Delimas

...Approaches to Ethical Dilemmas Evanya S. Perry 335 January 20th, 2014 Dr. Tami Frye Approaches to Ethical Dilemmas When trying to apply different approaches to ethical dilemmas there are several different steps that need to be taken. Understanding the case study, providing answers to difficult questions, determining an approach to take that would best suit the ethical dilemma, and identifying the ethical issues encountered along with providing an approach method will be the first few steps taken. These steps are important to recognize before proceeding in any way. In case number five we are introduced to a woman named Janet Lewis who is a registered nurse. The case study describes her as a motivated worker that has a child with special needs that she raises on her own. Other important information about Janet is the fact that she volunteers to pick up extra shifts to help her employer cover available hours. The case study describes the hours leading up to the situation that happens one day with Janet. On one particular day Janet had covered so many hours that she worked without getting any sleep and was exhausted. Later in her shift because of her exhaustion she misreads a label of medication and proceeds to give the wrong medication to the doctor to be administered. This mistake proves to be fatal and the patient dies. Janet tells the doctor about her mistake and is overheard by the patient’s family. An incident report is filed shortly after and...

...CASE ANALYSIS QUESTION 1 From the legal perspective, were there any abuses of power by the management and breach of fiduciary on the part of the directors? In our opinion, there are abuses of power by the management in the company of Delima Enterprise Sdn Bhd. The management should act in the best interest of the company not the best interest of the director. For example in this case, the management uses their power to withdrawals several money from the company without proper documentation. It is illegal because management is not allowed to take money without authorization. Another abuse of power use by management is they claimed the personal vehicle expenses charged to the company. The management should be aware of separate legal entity. All this problem occurs because lack of internal control and no segregation of duties among staff in the Delima Enterprise Sdn Bhd. Director plays an important role in the management of the company and adopting policy decisions to the company. Therefore the directors have certain important duties while conducting company business. There are three types of fiduciary duties of company director which are duty of reasonable care, skill and diligent, duty to act in good faith in the best interest of the company and duty to avoid conflict interest. Director is responsibilities to fulfill their fiduciary duty and owes a corporation duty of trust and is bound to act in the best interest of its shareholders.
