Let the Earth Bring Forth is a book to prove or testify God’s creation. A man who has spent so much time, efforts and almost his whole life for exploring the region of spiritual faith and science. Many people have some struggles between the theories which they have learned in biology and the traditional opinions of creation that they have learned in school. This book has truly answers all these questions and struggles by using different scriptures in the bible. In this book, the author tried to prove and explain that science and religion are not incompatible by nature. For example, we know that through the bible, the word “day” has used to mention time period. In Genesis 2:17, the Lord has instructed Eve and Adam do not eat the forbidden fruit or they will die on “the day” they eat. We know that at last Adam and Eve have eaten the forbidden fruit but they have lived for many years. The day spoken of in Genesis was not twenty-four hours period we calculate nowadays referring a day. Furthermore, “Let the earth bring forth” is God’s royal command (Gen1:11) God has prepared an earth that would bring forth and grow. In the bible, “And God said, Let the water bring forth abundantly, the moving creature that hath life and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good…. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his mind and God saw that is was good. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was every good. (Gen1:20-21, 25.31) From this we God has prepared and created wonderful things in the earth such as mountains, rivers, plants, animals. There is light and dark, receiving warm from the sun. The earth was prepared to bring forth an atmosphere with appropriate gases and rocks with appropriate minerals. It makes sense for me when I read the scriptures and combined what I have learned in biology classes. Also, we know that organic evolution occurs, and it is the mean that God prepared for his purpose to carry out the evidence that science and religion can be combined. In Genesis1:11; Abraham4:11, we have learned about the speciation by evolution. Stutz writes. “The Earth has brought forth and is still bringing forth species after species after species. The concepts of organic evolution, as I understand them, appear to harmonize with the scriptures. Points of disharmony seem few, and these few disparities appear to be the result of either ignorance or misinterpretation. In either case, they will most likely be resolved as new light and knowledge become available” (65) I love the writings from Stutz because he is really good at using different scriptural knowledge combined with scientific truth to prove the things we know.
There are many members from our church who are famous scientists in the world such as Howard C. Stutz. Without questions, he is a wonderful science and this book is an very good resources and introduction to questions about the compatibility of organic evolution with LDS scripture.
I know that God is the greatest scientists who have created this earth and all the plants and animals. We should continue to learn from the scriptures and the science to help us develop more concepts in order to better understand the secrets of this earth.…...

Earth

...The Bible says that this beautiful Earth on which we live was created by God for Adam and Eve to live in and those we are the descendants of Adam and Eve. For centuries many philosophers in the East and in the West including the Greek philosopher Aristotle believed that earth is the centre of this universe. It was left to Galileo, a prominent mathematician of Padua University to announce his discovery on January 17, 1610 that the Earth is a planet just like other planets revolving round the Sun, which is a star. It was also established that the sun due to its gravitational pull attracts all these planets which revolve round it. Apart from the Earth there are some other planets which go round the sun. These planets, however, vary in size and also in their distance from the sun. They have their own orbits, and the period of rotation also varies in each case. Some of these planets have satellites called moons, varying in number. Some do not have any satellites. Normally, if they do not have a counter pull, they should have been dragged into the sun by the gravitational pull. These gravitation pulls of the sun and the counter pulls of the planets are called centrifugal forces. The planets revolve round the sun in their own specific orbits. These planets could be arranged in an order based on their distance from the sun. The nearest to the sun is Mercury and the next is Venus. Third comes the Earth. Later in the same order come Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and......

Bring the Uniforms

...Over the last couple weeks at Sweetwater High School the principal Dr.Ramon Del Rosario brought forth an idea that all student wear a school uniform. He says they will have great effects on the students and their grades. the school uniform will consist of a grey polo shirt and khaki pants. He says they are cheap and easy to find and they will prevent gang violence. In the last couple of days Dr. Ramon Del Rosario was talking to the school board and got his idea approved. They decided that starting the next semester they want every student in a uniform and if the students are defiant and don’t wear it there will be disciplinary action taken by the administrators. Our principle will give a speech at the next assembly telling all you students the new news about the uniforms. He will be telling you guys that he has informed all the nearby stores that they will need to stock up on grey polo shirts and khaki pants and to put them on sale so that every student at Sweetwater can go buy their uniforms for the new semester. On the other hand when all of you guys are in your new uniforms there will be less gang violence which will bring a better representation to our school. If the gang members that were causing problems to all the other student stop coming to school then its better for everyone else because they can focus on their school work without being terrified of being hurt by a gang member or a bad student that has bad grades and goes to school to mess with everyone....

Forth Though

...and found out that even I was selfish in the game. Though I tried to be cooperative with my friend and when there was a clash in our opinions I accepted his decision. Even my first action in the game, the choice of being the godfather in the first turn, so as to know about how each of my friend played, signals that I was selfish. The word selfish might not be apt. I think everybody in the game was competitive and had the spirit to win the game. As we all played individually in the game, we all were trying our best to confuse others so that they could not gauge the mafias when actually we were the mafias in our particular turns. Temporarily, I felt irritable when my best friend was trying to force his decision on me, but I acted maturely and let his choice be acknowledged. I found out that I was way mature than I earlier thought. I found out that I could be impatient when people were not paying heed to what I was speaking, I could be irritable at my best friend for not cooperating with me and going with the plan. Most importantly, I could cheat my friends just to win a mere game. I was similar in a way that I also wanted to win. Though there was a lot of difference in me while playing the game when compared with the real me. I was happy in seeing my friends win the game that I thought to be the wisest amongst us all. I learnt that my best friend was too goal driven. Firstly, he did not abide by the plan that we had decided upon prior to the game completely. Additionally, he......

Arise and Shine Forth

...now as I have prepared for speaking today. I have thought a great deal about the words “arise” and “Shine” and how they relate to me and my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In reference tot his scripture Elder Orson Pratt wrote: “The Zion that is here spoken of is called to ‘arise and shine, for the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.’ There is no one thing more fully revealed in the Scriptures of eternal truth, than the rise of the Zion of our God in the latter days, clothed upon with the glory of God from the heavens – a Zion that will attract the attention of allthe nations and kindreds of the whole earth. It will not be something that takes place in a corner or on some distant island of the sea, or away among some obscure people’ but it will be something that will call forth the attention of all people and nations upon the face of the whole earth.” Again, as I read that quote from Elder Pratt I thought of it in connection with my own testimony of the gospel. His description of the rise of Zion and the attention that it will draw, along with the words arise and shout, speak to the way we, as members of this church, with knowledge of a risen Lord and a true Zion, should feel about our testimonies and sharing them with the people around us. Many of us have heard and live by the edict “don’t talk about religion or politics”. I certainly have. I, by nature, do not like to rock the proverbial boat. It makes me very uncomfortable if anyone else is......

Dare to Be Uncool Don't Let Our Earth Die Before Our Eyes

...Dare to be Uncool: Don't Let Our Earth Die Before Our Eyes Advance of Technology Life has never been easier. With the advance of technology, now people can do things which were impossible in the past. Motor vehicles help us commute, and trains and airplanes even more so. In daily life, the advent of plastic diapers helps mothers and fathers; their sleep isn't bothered with having to change their babies' cloth diapers frequently. Too Much Technology really helps us, but in my opinion the use of it is sometimes too much. Here is one example from my neighborhood: I saw my teen neighbor going to a local shop by motorcycle. And how far is her house from the shop? Only 300 meters! She only bought one pack of instant noodles and also got a black plastic bag for free. Since she used her motorcycle, she needed the plastic bag because she couldn't hold the noodles while driving. So, the plastic bag with its carrying handler became the solution. If she had chosen to walk to the shop, she wouldn't have needed the plastic bag, as she could have carried the noodles in her hand. This little example shows that technology is sometimes inappropriate, and too much. We become dependent on it for simple tasks and worse, we become lazy. Moreover, we human beings are consuming too much, and this consumption is unsustainable. Humanity is consuming over 20% more natural resources each year than the Earth can produce.1 Yes, it makes our life easier right now. But imagine a few years from......

Who Is the Enemy of Life on Earth, Alins or Humans Themselves?

...We have seen in a number a Hollywood movies that how ambitious aliens come and bring about destruction of the earth. They are shown to possess ultra modern technology that humans cannot match, but still humans somehow manage to save earth from their wrong intentions of conquering earth or destroying earth. But, that is only the happy ending in a movie. The main idea behind is that we have created the notion of some extra-terrestrial life who is mean and wants to destroy earth for his/her desires. We are always afraid of such beings as they are portrayed to have intent to conquer earth. Are they really a threat to earth? Or, is it the humans themselves who are the enemy of the earth. I will present the arguments from both the sides and let the audience decide. What can possibly be the motive of aliens to venture towards earth and their assumed intentions to conquer earth? Like humans it might be their appetite for natural resources, they would know only too well that a civilization of our size would have used a substantial portion of our own resources, leaving them with very little to fight us for. On Earth, proven reserves of natural gas total 130 billion tons. Titan, one of the moons of Jupiter has on its surface many dozens of lakes filled not with water or even water in the form of ice, but of liquid methane and ethane, each of which individually having at least as much energy as our own proven reserves. The Oort Cloud surrounding the solar system, is rich in......

Young Earth vs Old Earth

...Young Earth –vs- Old Earth Here is my take on the young earth- vs- old earth debate. I am extremely confident that the Universe and everything that lives on the Earth was created by God. This miraculous process took place as stated in Genesis chapter one. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth” (Holy Bible). The oppositions to old earth is young earth. For me, it is just like the life of a Christian. If you live for God then you oppose the way of the devil. Old earth perspective can be added up to two main issues. Issue number one is the meaning of the word Yom. Young-earth followers will say with no hesitation, that Yom equals a 24-hour day in the creation account. “God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” “And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day” (Holy Bible). Old earth counter this argument because the definition in the Hebrew, “gives Yom more than one meaning”. “It can be 24 hour period, or an unspecified longer period of time” (Along with other meanings). The second issue, says that life on earth developed “over a process of time” (Morris, 1994). My perspective has not nor will it ever change. As I always say, “if you can explain your God, then He is too little”. This definitely takes faith to believe the creation and the account of the flood. Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding“(Holy Bible). Let us take the big bang theory. “This theory...

...the sun and the smallest planet at the moment. Its revolution period is 88 earth days and its ration time is 59 days. Mercury is made up of core-iron-nickel alloy, mantle, and then the crust which is silicate. During the day mercury’s temperature reaches 800°F and at night it goes down to -279°F. Mercury looks similar to earth’s moon; it is covered with craters which are made from meteors, asteroids, and comets and it covers 70% of mercury. Its diameter is 3,031 miles, its mass is 5% of earth’s mass, and the sun is 6.3 times brighter. Mercury was named by the Greeks, after the messenger of their g-d. Mariner 10 visited mercury, it mapped 45% of it, and it was the only one which visited more than one planet during its mission. It went up from Cape Canaveral, Florida on November, 1973 and went to Venus in February of 1974. Never attempt to observe Mercury or anything close to the sun with a naked eye because it can cause permanent damage. And with binoculars or telescope it is even more dangerous. VENUS Venus is the second planet from the sun it is called the evening star because it can be seen by sunset and also by sunrise. Venus is made up of molten metal core, mantle, and crust of various rocks and 98% of carbon dioxide with traces of nitrogen and other gases. It is the only planet that the day is longer then it’s year, it’s year is 225 earth days, and its day is 243 earth days. Venus is known as earth’s twin because of the similarity, it’s 82%......

Pillars of the Earth

...Literature Essay: The Pillars of the Earth Shannen Guerra 12th Grade B Life and humanity’s real essence is such a complex topic to cover. To try to do so in a book would imply a carefully thought over work and its extension would obviously not be short. There is a very large amount of aspects, each with a singular characteristic or particularity, that the person in question to develop the topic has to have a very good way of conveying the message in order for the public (in this case, the readers) to fully comprehend. There are so many things to take into consideration, all of which are to be further developed. The Pillars of the Earth, a historic-fictional novel situated on a specific area of the 12th century England and written by Ken Follet, is the work to be talked about. Let’s take a better look into it, with all the regard and carefulness it deserves. As a point of departing, the first literary element to be discussed about is the characters. To start, there is Jack Jackson, the son of Jacques Cherbourg and Ellen. He’s a red-headed, blue-eyed, smart, instinctive, passionate young architect, the stepson to Tom Builder. He adores Aliena as a kid and throughout his life, and dreams of building a cathedral with the different styles he has seen in France and Spain. Jack Jackson is a round character because he’s a fully developed character throughout the story and because one would feel Jack is real. We have Tom Builder, as well, who’s a tall architect, thorough......

...Have you ever wanted to die? Hopefully not and thanks to these two people we didn’t! 2 months ago a 2 boys named Kade Kostus and Kevin Durant met together at a basketball court in Miami ‘Florida, there was some crazy hot weathers and finally it happened. 2 girls from Japan have set bombs of in the earth’s inner core so most of the chemicals keeping us alive in the inner core have shot up in the sky and landed tall buildings. The buildings on the next day have fallen apart and killed about 3000 people in the city of Miami. Kade and Kevin met up again in Rockford Michigan and they talked about making a big ship that shoots underground so they could bag up the chemicals and place them back in the earth. That night the news channel comes to both of Kade and Kevin’s house interviewing them Kade said that “The chemicals have no name and we hope we don’t die”, on the other hand Kevin said “Ok we are leaving at 3:35 AM tomorrow and no further questions”. That morning Kade And Kevin has gone to their ship that they have built and it is placed in a secret island in Australia. The ship fires up with a super powered laser and spinning knives on the sides to keep moving fast down the earth’s layers. They finally hop in with the chemicals and the ship starts in 3 2 1 and poof. They have entered Lake Baikal because it has the thinnest crust so they could get a big boost in the mantle. They reach the crust and the crust has underwater volcanoes so it dents the ship. There...
