Module 6 Assignment

Part 1: Answer the Module Review Questions listed below. These questions were chosen to demonstrate your understanding and help you assess your progress.

1. Most businesses should engage in e-commerce on the Internet. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Explain your position.
I disagree with this statement. The internet is a wonderful place for doing business but it is not for everyone or for all types of business and I would not be comfortable saying most businesses should engage in e-commerce. There is no 100% guaranteed way to keep your personal information secure and even with some laws in place that govern things like health information or personal data other information is still unregulated. There is also a large problem with data breaches and it seems that the larger or more well know the company the more they become a target for hackers. Until there is a law that covers all types of data and all uses of the data as well as a lessened risk of data breaches I cannot agree with most businesses needing to be on the internet. Beyond data security and protection some businesses do not have the kind of product that can or should be sold online. Pets, perishable goods, guns, and plant life are some of the things I would think do not belong on the internet and in many cases cannot be shipped either domestically or from overseas anyway. I would also say that there is a need for buyer to be able to look at and try on/out an item that is just not possible in a virtual store.

2. What are the critical success factors for retail e-Business startups?
Our text lists e-commerce success factors as selection and value, performance and service, look and feel, advertising and incentives, personal attention, community relationships, security and reliability, and great customer communication (O'Brien & Marakas, 2013). These are important…...

Inf 336 - Chapter 6 - Review Questions

...Chapter 6 Review Questions Andrea Ley Berenz INF 336 Prof. Lori Deere August 2, 2013 Chapter 6 Review Questions * Describe the differences between needs identification and defining commercial equivalents and discuss why it is preferable to separate into two stages. The first two steps of the acquisition process are essential to meeting the needs of the company properly. Needs identification is where a purchase begins and when the what, the how much and the when something is needed is determined. When this is done, figuring out the options available to fulfill that need and making sure that it is described in a way that potential suppliers will understand, or defining the commercial equivalent, takes place. I believe that the textbook describes it best: “Many options exist for fastening two pieces of wood together. Using a nail is only one option. Grooving the two pieces of wood using a staple, bolt or screw, or glue are others. Specifying the need first and then identifying the variety of options to meet the need leave the door open to lower cost and better, more innovative, solutions.” (Johnson, Lendeers & Flynn, 2011) These two steps are best tackled separately as making sure that the need is correctly explained will ensure the correct solution is found and that the option chosen is the right fit for the company. * Interpret the value to the organization when early supplier involvement (ESI) is implemented effectively. “Early supply......

Chapter 6 Review Questions

...Miguel Berrios July 28, 2013 Chapter 6 Review Questions 1. How does the WBS differ from the project network? The WBS differs from the project network in several ways. The WBS is hierarchical while the project network is sequential. The work packages of the WBS are identified independently of other work packages, have definite start and finish points, require specific resources, include technical specifications and have cost estimates. Networks provide the project schedule by identifying dependencies, sequencing, and timing of activities. 2. How are WBS and project networks linked? Project networks are developed from the WBS. Work packages from the WBS are used to build the activities found in the project network. The network uses the time estimates from the WBS to generate dates for the project. Integration of the WBS and project network is crucial to effective project management. 3. Why bother creating a WBS? Why not go straight to a project network and forget the WBS? Project networks depend on the WBS because work packages from the WBS are used to develop the project network. A network activity can include one or more work packages but all activity time estimates are derived from the task times in the work package. Unlike the project network, the WBS defines all the elements of the project in a hierarchical framework and establishes their relationships to project deliverables. 4. Why is slack important to the project......

The abstract is typically a short summary of the contents of the document.] | MHM502 Health Care Finance has broadened my horizons not just on the financial aspect of the Healthcare system, but the Health Care system as a whole. This health care finance course has laid out clear and specific objectives, and insured that the student, has not just a broad overview, but a specific and detailed orientated understanding of all the topics covered. I now have a very clear understanding of not just how health care is financed, but also its distribution across all demographics. Not only is health care financed by both public and private funding, funding can even be broken down further by each state. I have also learned that there are some very key difference when one compares different states to one another. Health insurance coverage in the United States is drastically different among socioecomimic class, race, nativity, and age. I have also learned the differences in fully and self-insured plans and the risks associated with both. Through the modules I have a much greater understanding of the PPACA act and the changes that it imposes, though it seems like in order for this act to have solid effect on the people it...
