Buod

Tauhan * Rogelio Manglicmot/ Kapitan Sino

...A well-known filmmaker Robert Zemeckis got a reputation as a state of the art filmmaker in 1985 when he directed the comedic time travel “Back to The Future” film series. He went on to make Academy Award movies such as ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit” and “Forest Gump” (June 3, 2011). “Flight” stars a well-rounded acting veteran Denzel Washington. Washington plays a flight captain, Whip Whittaker, who is at the difficult time in his life battling drug and alcohol addiction as a flight captain. He becomes a hero and has to make a decision that can change his life. After reviewing the movie we can determine the reason for him becoming a hero, the "real" Whip, and my final review of the film. In the movie “Flight”, the major character Denzel Washington presents a bad portrait of professionalism. He plays an airline flight captain addicted to money, sex, and alcohol. Whip decides to use cocaine to wake up after a night with little sleep to fly the next morning. That morning during the flight Whip meets intense turbulence. In fact, while at cruising altitude, Whip falls asleep leading the copilot to take over. Finally, a mechanical noise wakes him abruptly. Here is when we see the characteristic that appears to make Whip a hero. His confidence to land the plane during mechanical malfunction is very symbolic in terms of being seen as a hero. The standout heroic moment in the film is when the plane travels at high speeds straight for the ground and Whip purposely turns’ the plane......

The Book of Eli Movie Review

...Eng 152 Professor Snyder The Book of Eli With December 21st 2012 (speculated date at which the world ends) coming closer, and the amount of post-apocalyptic films coming out, some avid movie viewers might already be jaded with these types of films by now. This movie directed by the Hughes Brothers, shows a clear and accurate depiction of the power of the Bible in broken times. The Book of Eli is not your average post-apocalyptic film. From the melodic soundtrack, to the astonishing performance delivered by Denzel Washington, “The Book of Eli” is certainly a must watch! The Plot of the movie is carefully crafted, and it is easy to tell that the directors and producers all took their time before putting together this intricate plot. “The Book of Eli” takes place several years after a nuclear holocaust. The lone man named Eli (played by Denzel Washington) wanders the desert nuclear wasteland, living on what he can find and disposing of any marauders who give him any problems. After traveling west for a few years Eli arrives in a small town. Eli comes to the attention of the town’s leader named Carnegie after killing several attackers in the local bar. ...How to Write a Movie Review Writing a movie review is a great way of expressing your opinion of a movie.  The purpose of most movie reviews is to help the reader in determining whether they want to watch, rent or buy the movie.  The review should give enough details about the movie that the reader can make an informed decision, without giving anyway any essentials such as the plot or any surprises.  Below are our guidelines and tips for writing a good movie review. HYPERLINK "http://www.yourmoviereviews.com/" \t "_blank" Submit your movie review 1. Watch the movie The first step in writing the review is to watch the movie.  Watch the movie in a relaxed environment you are familiar with.  You do not want to be distracted by an unfamiliar room.  Watching the movie a second time will help you absorb a lot more detail about the movie.  Most movie reviewers take notes as they watch the movie review.  2. Give your opinion Most movie reviewers will give their opinion of the movie.  This is important as the reviewer can express the elements of the movie they enjoyed or disliked.  However, as in all good journalism, the reviewer should also give impartial details, and allow the reader to make their own mind over an issue the reader liked or disliked.  Opinions should be explained to allow the reader to determine whether they would agree with your opinion. ...2 fast 2 furious Review 2 fast 2 furious is one of the best car street racing movies to watch. The Miami police department has been tracking down a drug lord, Carter Verone, but cannot find any evidence to arrest him. The department has Monica Fuentes, an undercover agent, as Verone’s girlfriend. They need street racers in order to capture Verone, so they arrest the main actor Brian O’ Connell at the end of a street race and take him to the department. At the department, they give him the breakdown about Verone and try to assign him a partner. He does not like the partner they try to give him, so he decides to pick his own, Roman Pearce. Their main job is to work undercover and arrest Verone so that their records will get cleared and they can walk away as free men. I like this movie because of the great acting performed by the main actors and the cars. 2 fast 2 furious has great acting. Paul Walker and Tyree Gibson do an excellent job playing the parts of Brian O’ Connell and Roman Pearce. Brian, a former cop, plays a good role as an undercover cop. Roman on the other hand, plays the role of a thug. He is tattooed and dresses with baggy clothes. He uses a lot of slang and likes to use the word “bruh” a lot, which is a slang term for brother. He is a thug because he had to spend three years in jail. He blaims Brian for that and when he first sees him in the movie he punches him in the face out of anger and they begin to fight. As the movie goes on, the hate that he has for...

...Review of “Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story” The movie “Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story” is a biographical drama recounting of the colorful life of legendary martial arts star Bruce Lee. The film is written based on the Bruce’s window Linda’ book "Bruce Lee: the man only I knew", and directed by Rob Cohen and starred Jason Scott Lee. This biographical drama released in the United States in year 1993, and inspired a Kong Fu hit in Hollywood. The film gives audiences the closest account of inner Bruce Lee and represents his childhood in Hong Kong, to his days as a dishwasher, a teacher of martial arts and eventual martial art super star in Hollywood. Bruce Lee is an absolute legend of martial art, and he was prominent figure that represented strength and mastery. This film is a retelling of Bruce’ life, but also shows how Bruce went up to the top and fought against obstacles along the way to his success. I was deeply impressed by Bruce’s talents and efforts, and fascinated by his mental capacity. In the film, Bruce was plotted against by another martial art master Chinatown and nearly died from injury. However, with his wife’s encouragements, he changed his fight methods and created his own concept of Kong Fu called Jeet Kune Do. This film also shows discrimination towards Chinese, which made me so sad. Racial discrimination presented in this film was great and targeted not only towards Bruce but also other Chinese in the United States. I still remember there is a scene that when......

Book Theif Movie Review

...“The Book Thief” Movie Reflection People always say 'the book is so much better than the movie'. In The Book Thief’s case, I agree with this statement. In my opinion, I think the original novel that Markus Zusak wrote was more captivating and told the story in a more fascinating way, including narration by Death and many other important details that were not included in the movie. For this reason, the movie did not do the book justice. Unlike the book, it felt like it was rushing through events in the beginning and the ending of the movie, but in the middle it felt slow and a little dull. The movie was still good, but I don't think it was as good as it could have been. As I mentioned before, many events from the original story were not in the movie. Some events that were in the movie got altered, which, to me, changed some effects of the story. An example of this would be when Hans stood up for the Jewish store owner getting beat by a Nazi, where in the book Hans courageously gave a Jewish man a piece of bread. The way it was written in the book seemed like more of a risk because it put his whole family in jeopardy, whereas in the movie it didn't seem as heroic. Also Alex Steiner and Hans should have left for the service at the same time, like in the book, because then Liesel and Rudy could have made a connection over their missing fathers. Although the movie made many changes, in some ways it also modified the book in a good way. One scene not in book was where Rudy and......

Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. In this movie director hasn’t give any extra power to the hero. He uses his technological power to attain his mission. Christian Bale can perform his shooting excellently. He played the role of Batman perfectly. It mainly entertains me by its main theme & script writing. I find......

...Hancock Being a movie fanatic, life is measured by when the next big movie release is going to be. One of the movies I have been looking forward to for a while was Hancock. Unfortunately, the movie was released in theatres during the summer when I was visiting Hong Kong and by the time I got back, it wasn’t in theatres anymore so I had to wait for the movie to be released on DVD. The movie is directed by Peter Berg and stars Will Smith and Charlize Theron. The movie takes place in modern day Los Angeles and revolves around an alcoholic superhero named Hancock that doesn’t care about his appearance and seen as a homeless, played by Will Smith. Unfortunately, due to his alcoholic problems, when he is saving people and taking out criminals, he causes a lot of property damage and puts other civilians in danger, which makes the citizens of Los Angeles somewhat despise him. The beginning of the movie follows Hancock in his adventures around Los Angeles bringing criminals to justice while causing a lot of destruction along the way. The movie then goes to another main character; a public relations manager played named Ray Embrey who just unsuccessfully tried to pitch a new charity logo to some corporate executives and is on his way home when he gets stuck on some train tracks while a train is coming. Hancock then comes just in time to save him, but derails the train in the process. The people around the scene start to boo him, but Ray thanks him for saving his life and......
