Personal Reflection Paper

The choices you make on a daily basis which could affect your way of living is critical thinking. When making a decision that could have a positive or negative affect on you is critical thinking. To me critical thinking is being used every day by us and may not even notice it or pay attention to it. When you at work that is probably where it is used most when you are dealing with different personalities and races so you have to think about how you act and talk. The three most significant things that I learned in this course is one how often we use critical thinking on a daily basis. The second thing this class taught me is the different stages of thinking which I figured out I was practicing thinker which I learned that was I went over the problems instead of jumping right into the problem. The final thing I learned was about fallacies which is something is not as it seems for example, if a commercial says they have tires for $40 and when you get there they say they are sold out already that is just a scheme to get you into the store. My critical thinking has changed tremendously since I have started this class. When I am work I am more conscience of my actions and words. This class also help me with raising my children by thinking before I react. Usually I just overreact before thinking about how my actions could have a negative affect on them. The reason I placed myself in the stage of practicing thinking was I want to be precise in making sure not to make rational decisions. The stage that I have advanced to now is advanced thinker by putting my thoughts together by brainstorming ideas to help me accomplish my goal. With this new stage of thinking the change occurred after the week 1 and week 2 readings. The way I planned on moving from my current stage to the stage of master thinker is a lot of hard work and dedication.…...

...Black Raven May 12, 2013 Theo 104 D72 Reflection Paper #2 I. Introduction The two topics I have chosen to write about are the Fall of Man and Teaching/Instruction. During this second part of the course, I have learned some more interesting topics during the final weeks. This paper will cover the ideas I have learned so far in this course. II. Part One a. Theological Definition The beginning of the Fall of Man begins in the passage that took place when Adam and Eve, went from being obedient to God to being defiant of God. Adam and Eve were created with purity and were to obey God their creator. Then Satan came a long and convinced Eve and Adam to disobey God by eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge. This was the beginning of sin, and what I believe, was the period, that became known as, the Fall of Man. b. Biblical Foundation As described in Genesis 1:1-31, God is the creator of all living things, plants, animals and humans. God created Adam from dust and Eve was created from Adam’s rib, both were created in God’s image. God made the Garden of Eden a place where all of Adams and Eves desire for sustaining life could be met. God’s only restriction for Adam and Eve was not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. (Genesis 2-17). Eve was approached by a serpent who had persuaded her to eat the fruit from the tree that God told them not to. Then Eve talked Adam into eating the fruit from that same tree. ......

My Reflection

...My name is Tina and I am a senior, I just graduated last quarter. Today I’d like to share with you about the verse phillipians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus”. There are so many key words in this verse, and today I want to share about “thanksgiving” and “the peace of God, which transcends all understanding”. Last quarter when I reviewed the survival kit with leann, it is very interesting to read what I wrote four years ago. There was a question asking “what is your biggest temptation?” and I was quite surprised that I had wrote: “comparing with other people”, because I almost forgot it was a huge struggle for me when I was a freshman. As you may know, Chinese people are really into competition. I remembered I used to compare myself with my roommate a lot. She is a "Christian” but she spent all her Fridays partying. But she is so pretty and popular. She had many more friends than me, she had better grades than me and she had many channel bags… And my biggest struggle is, why does she have everything I don’t have but yet she is not even praying to God or requesting anything! This struggle stayed with me through my freshman year because I realized that coming to bible study and worship God on Sundays cannot draw me closer to being “popular” and I was somehow......

My Literacy Background Reflection Paper

...Smith 1 Smith English 101 10 December 2008 My Literacy Background Reflection Paper When I think of revising a paper I usually think of making minor changes to grammar, spelling, and other more rudimentary changes. This time though I am challenged to not only make those type of familiar changes but now I need to make a more in depth analysis into the thesis and content, development, and expression of my literacy background paper. For me this is a real challenge because of my past struggles with literacy. For my literacy background paper the most important changes that needed to be made was to content and development. My instructor requested that I make some grammatical changes, shorten and summarize long quotes, and expand on main points and provide more examples. First, in reference to grammar and other rules of writing I did not make many errors. The first two pages were pretty clean. On page three I used the word “to” instead of “on”, as the instructor suggested, when referring to an effect on me from others. I find that I tend to make this mistake a lot. I need to focus more on areas I tend to need the most work on so I do not continue to make the same mistakes. If I don’t my readers will only continue to get the wrong message from my writing. Also, my usage of quoting words used in speech was left out. I should have correctly quoted the words Bruddah and brother, like “Bruddah” and “brother”. It is apparent that I need to work harder to make sure I......

...My Reflections OMOWONUOLA EGBEYEMI-FALADE University of phoenix HCS 350 LITA TSAI June 19, 2014 My Reflections My Reflections from the Nursing Expertise Self –Report Scale (Garland, 1996, p. 197) indicates that I am a competent nurse at the moment on my unit as evidenced by my experience of 2 years as a registered nurse and “Typically, a nurse at the competent level has been in practice 2 to 3 years. This person can rely on a long-range of goals and plans to determine which aspects of a situation are important which can be ignored.’’(Berner & Berner, 1984)). My answers in the Self-Report scale from number 1,2,3,5,6, 7,14 and 15 reflects me as a competent nurse because I assist my patient first at all times, teach them about the management of their diseases and treatment , monitor frequently for safety since, identifying and managing of rapid changing situations, make right decisions about administering medication, giving therapeutic intervention at all times, monitoring and ensuring they have a quality health care services during their stay at the hospital by checking their vital signs and lab values for changes and use the information to make the best appropriate decision regarding their care.(Munjas,Barbara A, PhD., F.A.A.N., 1985). In conclusion, all information stands out important to me with my patient care at work. On number 9, I disagreed because that is not the best way to provide good nursing care. “Self-disclosure from the nurse needs to be......

...Reflection Paper Shannon B. Payton Liberty University Introduction This paper is about reflecting on what was covered in Theology 104. There are many Christians who understand that God loves us and wants the best for His children. There are many subjects, videos, and extracted material that has been read or discussed over the span of four weeks which has given me a better understanding of the Bible and Christianity. My reflection for this paper I have chosen two topics that I have chosen to address for this paper. First, topic I have chosen will be Grace and secondly I will be focusing on Love. Grace Theological definition of “grace” as many scholar s of the bible will define this word as the unmerited favor of God toward man. Grace can also be defined as like forgiveness, repentance, regeneration and salvation to mean something as broad as describing the whole of God’s activity towards man or as narrow as describing one segment of activity (Baker’s Evangelical Bible Dictionary). Often times many would attribute grace toward s how women carry themselves and even in the bible grace can be defined through many scripture as action of one who are in high position. Biblical Foundation The first time Grace has been in mentioned was in Genesis chapter 8 because of Noah obedience to God and God was tired or as the bible scholar would state grieved by man’s wickedness and caused God to erase mankind. In all this, Noah found favor with God. Here the word favor and......

...Plan Reflection Paper Ms Lea This course applies to my career plan because it will help me improve my communication skills. I see myself being a very successful entrepreneur in the future. My parents are both business owners, I have learned a lot from them. I have learned a lot in this course about sending messages, presentations, communication, etc. Not only will I apply what I have learned in my career, but also in my personal life. I feel like effective communication is needed and a lot of people lack in communication. In business it is important to make sure we are not only sending out the right messages, but also make sure we listen. When listening we do not only have to listen to what someone is saying, but make sure we observe their body language, facial expressions, eye contact, and listen to their tone of voice. Just because one is saying something, they might not be saying exactly what they are thinking. If someone says they are interested in the topic you are discussing with them and they don’t really engage in the conversation or have good eye contact they are probably not interested. The way one carries him or herself in a conversation says a lot about how well the presentation went. I would like to continue expanding my mom’s boutique and by doing so I have to make sure I am able to communicate well with everyone. I have to build a strong rapport with clients so they can refer our store and always come back. Also, I need to make sure I treat my......

...Running Head: REFELECTION PAPER Reflection Paper NUR3805 Professor OrNah 11/09/2014 Reflection Paper Why do you think it is important for the nurse at the bedside that nursing is recognized as a discipline? The nursing profession is made up of several different subspecialties and career paths, which have developed a positive view on the nursing career. Marilyn Parker discusses how a discipline must have a clearly defined domain, which expresses the theory and focus of the profession. The traditional nurse is responsible for a wide array of roles such as: educator, advocate, counselor, and caregiver. The world’s view of the nursing profession is a well-distinguished career field. “The discipline of nursing is a community of scholars, including nurses in all venues, where nursing occurs.”(Parker, 2003, p. 8) I think it is important for the nurse at the bedside that nursing is recognized as a discipline because for centuries nurse theorist and other nurses have contributed to the success of the career. If I was asked what the normal blood flow through the heart is, I could easily consult my memory, my anatomy textbook, or search for the answer online. Thus, I know for certain that there is only one correct answer. Many questions that arise during bedside patient care are indeed science related and often have only one correct answer. On the other hand, during patient care there are several......

...Morgan Perry THEO 104-D30 April 9, 2015 Reflection Paper INTRODUCTION: My first reflection paper will address temptation and Demons. I do not have a lot of knowledge in these subjects but I want to challenge myself in places I am not familiar with. However, temptation and demons have relation with one another so that’s why I chose these topics. These classes at Liberty University have definitely opened my mind to what it is to be a Christian and appreciate the morals and values I hold. Temptation and Demons are spoken of in the Bible and all over the world. I am excited to further my learning in these topics. THEOLOGICAL DEFINITION: What is temptation? Temptation is what moves us to sin. It is important to know that God does not tempt us to sin (Jas 1:13) and temptation is not to be equated with sin. Christ was tempted (Matt. 4) yet he never sinned (Heb. 4:15). James 1:12-16 is the definition of temptation. Great blessings are given to those who are tempted and remain faithful and your own desires lead you into temptation (James 1:12-16). We must be able to get to a point to resist temptation. It is also important to realize temptation is not sin. Sin is not to blame when we sin (Napier, 1993, para. 12). BIBLICAL DEFINITION: According to the Bible there are two definitions of temptation. Temptation was demonstrated in the Bible when God “tempted” Abraham (Gen. 22:1). In this case temptation meant a trial or being put to the test. Temptation can also mean......

...2015 Professor T Heck Reflection paper Meaning in Life This course opened my eyes about so many things. I don't think I have ever taken a course where the outcome came to be a better understanding of myself. We touched upon so many parts of life that I never really examined before this class. When I thought about myself I was doing rudimentary tasks to get through each class, each paper and each day. This class asked me to be happy. It also asked me to find that happiness within myself and my life. When I opened the models for the first time and noticed there would be a happiness journal that I would have to complete every week, my first thought was,"who could be that happy?" WhAt I learned was not a lesson about happiness but a lesson about me. In completing that assignment every week I came to know a different Hailey. I learned that my happiness lies in the fact that I face each new day full of enthusiasm and anticipation of a good and successful day. It turns out that if I start the day in this manner I expect it to be a good day and that tat he one for my day. I also learned that I best wY to maintain the good beginning is to maintain a happy attitude. Since I stared to look for the good in the day I have found a nicer person in myself. When I started this quest for happiness I would have to say that I perceived myself as having very low self esteem. When we reached that chapter in the textbook I found out that my measure of myself was......

...FAMIPOP Reflection Paper Name:_________________ Section:_________________ Date:____________ Reflection Paper Number:________ FAMIPOP Reflection Paper Name:_________________ Section:_________________ Date:____________ Reflection Paper Number:________ The topic my group chose for our research paper, and consequently our talk show, was the effects of parenting styles on the students’ perception of their academic performance. We chose this topic because, as students, we found how different students study in different styles interesting. We wanted to dive into the more specific details of these students study habits and work ethics. From studying early in the morning to reading various text books late at night, we though this could probably be caused by how they were raised and the environment they grew up in, especially regarding their parents’ treatment toward these students. Initially, we got major information we could use for our research during class. It was found that children behaved and grow up depending on how they were treated at home, after all, most of our lives start at home. Children with authoritarian parents, which entail parents who are very strict and implement rules just because they are the parent, tend to be rebellious and aggressive. Children with authoritative parents, or parents who stand in the center of strict control and leniency, tend to be obedient, responsible...

...Reflection Paper It was mid-day Tuesday on August 25th, I pull in Turner Avenue Garage Level 7, not having any money on me, I decided to change my parking ticket from the previous day, August 24th and change it to the 25th. At first I was thinking about doing it but I didn’t because I knew it was wrong and I left the parking garage. But two days later, on August 27th, using the same ticket from August 24th, running late to my 8am class, I decided to alter my parking ticket from the previous day. At the time it appeared to be a “good” yet foolish notion, in an urgent mindset to get to class with a hint of incautiousness, I used a sharpie and simply changed the date to the current date (August 27th). My desperation clearly clouded my judgment because the day before I knew how wrong it was to do something like that. After class I lost track of time and got busy with work. I parked at the garage from 8am and came back to the garage around 5pm, that was when I noticed my vehicle was missing; I was looking around the parking garage for a couple of minutes to see if I misplaced my parking spot but after awhile I finally asked two employees who were around the vicinity if they saw what had happened to my car. One of the gentlemen said if it wasn’t where I had left it, it might have been towed, and if that was the case, I should call MUPD. I did as he suggested and the campus police did verify that my vehicle was indeed towed and I had to pick it up at Tigers Towing. Left...

...Melina S. Deanda Reflection Paper #1- Note Taking Throughout High School the format for taking notes was always the Cornell format. Although my teachers were always telling us to use the Cornell format, I felt uncomfortable, because I was so used to using the List format. I used the List format since I was in elementary and trying to teach myself to remember, that I was expected to use the Cornell format was difficult. But both formats resembled each other, in the way that they are easier to use when you're writing down definitions or explanations. I eventually learned to love using the Cornell format because it made taking notes look a bit more organized, and if I had to choose between both I would choose the Cornell format. Developing my vocabulary has always been a major goal of mine, and I definitely think I still need to work on expanding it. I believe that your vocabulary reflects on your education and if I want to be able to make a good impression on my future employers, speaking well and using a wide range of vocabulary would definitely help me and anyone that expands their vocabulary out. Having good vocabulary also helps with being able to choose words with better precision, by that I mean that you won't get tongue tied as much or would have to think about what to say when your in an interview and get hit with a complicated question. Overall developing your vocabulary improves your communication skills, and that is why I would like to develop mine further. ...

...REFLECTION PAPER Define Peace? It is a question that came out from my mind, and also was asked by our speaker during the advocacy. Peace is the absence of war and freedom from quarrels and disagreement or the presence of harmonious relations. In our own selves, we could experience this if we have a peace of mind. By the moment, I realized that I’ve been worrying about so many things that my mind couldn’t relax. I forgot to find time to meditate and forget all my problems and undone works. I should give justice to my body and find a time to rest. Another thing I thought of was the death of my co-Angelenean, who was murdered and still not given justice. Evil is everywhere and could attack us anytime, so we should always be wary and ask for God’s guidance and to protect us. Love could bring peace. If everyone has love in their hearts it could overcome hatred and would prevent any arguments, quarrels or worst. If we have love we could also forgive and forget what others have done wrong to us, reconcile and it could cause us a peace of mind. Justice, as what our speaker said, is giving what is due to others, while love is giving beyond what is due to others. Like our parents, who would always accept us and give us everything beyond what we needed for they want to make us happy, and that’s because of love. Now, not all people have love in their heart for not everyone fears God. That’s the reason why crime is everywhere and unfortunately, one of our......

... My Reflections on Counseling Counseling Reflection I have to say that before this experience, the longest counseling session I had with any client was only 10 minutes long, and even with that I would use the word success loosely . Therefore, after discovering that we would be having a 30 minute session with a new client, I became extremely anxious. A tornado of worries swept through my mind, “What if I say something wrong? What if the client says nothing? What if the strategy I go in with doesn’t work? And what can we talk about for 30 minutes?” But, as those worries sprang to life, I remembered some wise advice that helped alleviate my anxiety. Within the assigned readings for my psychology class, I have learned that in order to succeed you have to fail, and that I believe goes with everything in life. As blunt as that may sound, it is an accurate statement in regards to becoming a counselor. I will not instantly become a great counselor and I will inevitably fail and make many of mistakes during my training, but these mistakes will help pave my way towards becoming a successful counselor. Prior to beginning my 30 minute counseling session, I repeated this phrase over and over again while practicing some deep breathing to calm myself down. This mind set and relaxation process helped me appear calm and collected, even though on the inside I was a nervous mess. After a few moments of pulling myself together, I began the......

...Jasmine K. Smith September 13, 2012 Reflection Of My Eating Habits First, I understand that my eating habits are not the best and I would love to change them. I do not eat according to the USDA food guide recommendations, because I never really paid attention to it and I am hardly every home so I always get food on the go, but I would like to start eating by it. Eating healthier is much better for you then always eating fast food and fried foods. Second, to make my diet better I would drink and use more low fat milk. I would cut back on drinking caffeine, because drinking a lot of caffeine can cause blockages and it can even cause cavities. I would better fit my diet by eating more starchy vegetables like green peas or green lima beans and stop eating junk food. I would not eat junk food because it can make you obese. I would use less salt and add spices, herbs, garlic, vinegar, or lemon juice to season foods or use no salt seasoning mixes. I would also try black or red pepper. Third, eating healthier is always better than eating unhealthy. Since I am not eating healthy and I love to eat fast food and fried foods like hamburgers. Fries, and fried chicken and fish, I would take steps to make my eating habits healthy. The steps I would take would eat more fruits. Maybe for lunch or for a snack I could eat a fruit salad. The next step I would approach is choosing meat like pork or chicken and eating them twice a week. I would eat more......
