The Gift of Life is a community-based program that provides educations services to men who have been convicted of a felony and are trying to regain employment in their community. We provide the support they need to help them in their daily living. We are a private corporation that receives funding through state and federal sources as well as private pay from volunteer and outside agencies.
The trouble the men are experiencing in today’s society is they have some past issues that have gotten in the way of the future. Every man involved has either been convict on a drug charge, gun, or even driving while license were suspended multiple time. In each of these charge the program take into consideration these charges could of happen in their youth and although we hold them accountable for their action they deserve a second chance to be productive in their community.
The demographics of this program is that the government caters to women. Our program would like to give back to men who have made a change in their lives and as well as women need help to be productive father in their home and for their families. This program can also help promote leadership, given opportunities to educate their sons, and start a new beginning at the end of the chapter.
Men have so much working against them in today’s society. Most African American men grow up living in poverty and are subject to the life of the streets, easy money, and gun. Poverty level living is called survival all by itself and that is what most of them in their youth are trying to do survive. So while trying to survive they encounter a dope man’s dream to get rich and make it out the ghetto; but yet they end up getting caught and find themselves doing time and convicted of a felony.
Men are human and make mistake. I choose to develop this program because I have family members and friends that to are human and have made the mistake of living the dream. Since making the mistake time has passed and they have changed and deserve a second chance. We have men that are father and can’t provide for their children and where does that live the family? It leaves them behind, homeless, and still living in a life style that doesn’t product positivity. Even when it comes to men who are on child support; his license is suspended because he didn’t pay for his child because loving him in not enough. So when he can’t pay because he is a convicted felon and can’t get a job how does the system help him? It doesn’t to tries to break him so all he knows is to go back to the streets, selling drugs and carrying a gun to survive; then he is a second time offender.
Our program will be designed to help a man in struggle not discredit him for the first mistake nor push him out there to make a second mistake. The causes of funding this program will affect the nation because they not only will your funding help give back to the community; it is helping men be productive in their homes and not in the system that want to stop men from being men and treat them like little boys. This program gives back to men who have been in the struggle and never understood how to make better decision because of their upbringing.
The program is designed to help men not feel as if they have lost anything in their life but to rebuild and restructure their life so that each individual will gain the confidence in what is required of them to live in society. The program helps me get back into the work environment without holding their past over their head which is clearly a mistake that was made in their youth and now that they have paid the price for the crime they commitment it is time to give back to society as a positive impact of leadership.

Mission Statement:
The Gift of Life is a community-based program that provides residential services to men who have been convicted of a felony. We provide individuals our program with the support they need to help them in their daily living. We are a private corporation that receives funding through state and federal sources and the Department of Community Health.
This mission statement supports the ethical system by addresses the needs of the clientele as a whole. It focus is the population it serves which is what the focus is supposed to be about as well as the purpose of the organization and professional behavior. The message the mission statement send to the community is that the organizations aims at enhancing the lives of those they serve by providing an exceptional leadership with compassion. It also informs the community that the organization is there to help men maintain a healthier lifestyle without judgment or prejudice to the individual or their situation. The message also informed the communities that they plan to impact the community by promoting a more positive imagine while helping people who have been convict of a felony. The purpose of the organization is not to make a profit, but to provide education to men who suffer from making bad chooses.

Goals:
The Gift of Life inspires actions that influence behavior by the positive impact with the clients and them interacting with the community and not being isolated from society to help impact their lives. The values statement allows the clients to live a normal life within the community it is a part of and feel like they can’t be a part of the world. It helps them to be take part in social gathering with varies types of people. Not being a part of a community or being about to work in the community doesn’t give men a better approach in life. Within the organization as a whole we plan to give out client’s the opportunity to have the freedom to gain a form of independence without discriminating amongst society and it’s employer.
Objective:
I think having this type of organization not only gives back to the community, but it also prevents depression that the clients may feel not being able to support their selves or families. In most case they are not able to participate in the society of which they live without being harassed. The organization is totally committed to providing the highest education and employment to its clientele and making sure that the men hired are trained properly. The Gift of Life, Inc. must maintain and implement a comprehensive safety program, so that all men served work and live in a safe environment. All of this leads to higher productivity among the individual, which improves organizational productivity (Megan Martin, Demand Media, 2014).

Benefits and Services:
The organization offers more than just people teaching people. Its mission is to build to be beneficial to its clientele. Being enrolled in this program is a benefit to the client as well as the community because it teaches men how to be better provider, make rational decisions, as they accurately represent the education, training, experience, and competencies in their environment.
The services offered consist of educational, training for employment, a life coach, and stability.

Eligibility:
The program is established to help African American, Caucasian, and Hispanic men in race who have been convicted of a felon. The program requirement require that an man convicted of a felon to show proof of the conviction and the Gift of Life will provide necessary avenues to help the individual promote his independents without prejudice or discrimination from an employer or the society in which he remains.

Service Delivery:
The program will be beneficial in help men develop training, educational, and employable skill sets.

Program Theory
Men are expected to regroup and focus on properly guiding themselves as well as teaching their sons the roles of manhood

* Fathers are expected to lead their son(s) while showing them the responsibility the man plays in life and how to live a healthier lifestyle.

Program Specifications
A. Men will re-evaluate their childhood and reflect on some things that should have been done differently in their lives or could have been done better. 1. Men will think about what struggles they had as a boy and enlighten their son(s) of what mistakes they made as a boy, so they can let their son(s) know that is not the path they want for them. 2. Men will express to their son(s) the importance in being respectful 3. Men will show their son(s) the importance of education 4. Men will speak with their son(s)about life challenge he will face when he doesn’t walk a straight path 5. Men will show their shows their greatest strengths 6. Men will also speak to their sons about proper grooming and hygiene
B. Educational part of the process will include 1. Every father speaking to each son individually about how to be a better man 2. Great Male Leader coming out speaking to the group about how the sky is the limit 3. One on One opportunity with specialist if needed Budget:
The program will offer a list of qualified staff to help aide the program as well as the client. Each staff member will have experience in the field of educating as well as promoting independence. All staff will be proper trained and will require monthly training as a refresher. The salary will be upon position and experience. Within the budget I have allocated funding for supplies, equipment, travel and rent for the program to be successful. See below:
