...Thomas Dang Professor Decker English 1B 21 November 2012 Outline 1. Introduction: One of the biggest concerns in America in the past and in today’s time is what the required and appropriate drinking age should be in the United States. There has been statistics showing that the drinking has been lowered before and in that time period there were more accidents occurring more than when the drinking age were set at twenty-one. 1. Background: The twenty first amendment in 1933, it gave individual states to legalize, regulate, or prohibit alcohol which was known as repeal of prohibition. The repeal of prohibition act was what changed the drinking age to twenty-one to eighteen, not all fifty states lowered it but about over thirty states did. The act Mothers Against Drunk Driving was what set the drinking age back to twenty-one. 2. Argument: We should not lower the drinking age to eighteen because of the fact that the earlier the teenager get to drink the earlier they are risking their development of their brain and the health of their body. Not only that it affects their health but it also affects their academic in school and their safety while driving under the influence. a) Reason 1: Keep the drinking age at twenty-one because it keeps the highways and streets safer. b) Reason 2: A better chance in better academic progression, due to the fact that the brain still develops until the age of twenty-five. c) Young adults are more mature at the......

...time, imagine a hypothetical setting.  In addition, the Rubric details how you will be graded.  The Cover Page is due in Module/Week 3. * You will create an outline of each lesson in your study.  The main passages you must use come from the four Gospels; however, you are not restricted to one Gospel.  You may also refer to epistles from time to time, but do not make an entire lesson out of epistles, such as 1, 2, and 3 John; 1 and 2 Peter, etc. You should expositionally study the relevant Bible passages firsthand.  Investigate the Gospel narratives.  Observe, interpret, and apply the texts.  Illustrations are good, but don’t get carried away.  You must use at least 6 scholarly sources in your research, and you must properly format them according to Turabian style.  If you want to use Internet sources not found through the Liberty University Library (such as through Google), you must obtain permission from your instructor first. Within each outline you must include the following information: * The lesson introduction * The transitions and illustrations you will use * The lesson conclusion * Bibliography with the cited scholarly sources in Turabian format Once you have received feedback from your classmates (which takes place in Discussion Board Forum 5), finish your Lessons Outlines and submit them in one document within Module/Week 5.  The Rubric details how you will be graded.  Consult the Scholarly vs. Popular Sources document to......

Being punctual is a huge responsible quality that students learn when they begin working. c. A responsibility of having a job helps students prioritize their time. III. Time management a. Time management is another responsible quality that students learn from because they learn how to multi- task and make the most out of their time. b. The Outline

...The Outline Assignment Explanation: Before attempting to write a first draft, students should always create as detailed an outline as possible. This means you will have to think through your entire paper before you begin to write it. This is imperative given the required length of the Research Paper. Six to ten pages is not something you should try to intuitively write. If you try to “wing it” you will take much longer than you need to write the paper, and you will find it hard to keep on track. Your paper will feel disorganized and you will inevitably include irrelevant information. Here is the easiest pattern I can suggest for your papers: 1. You will need an introduction that introduces your topic, provides relevant background on your topic, and then transitions to your thesis statement. Your thesis should be a two-fold thesis statement. 2. In APA style, it is common to divide a research paper into different sections. These sections can be the arguments you make to prove your thesis. In English 101, you wrote five paragraph essays: an Introduction, three Body Paragraphs, and a Conclusion. The pattern was to have a thesis for which you made three arguments. Each argument was one of the three paragraphs. For English 102, simply take that pattern and expand it. What does that mean? If you have three main arguments to prove your thesis, each argument should be a section of the paper. The pattern is as follows: I. Introduction II. Section I ......

Outline outline naturally organizes the information in a highly structured, logical manner, forming a skeleton of the textbook chapter or lecture subject that serves as an excellent study guide when preparing for tests. This method of note taking is extremely useful in most instances; however, in classes, such as math or chemistry, where a lot of formulas, graphs, or structures must be drawn, the outline method should be replaced with a better note-taking system. How to Use Write points in an organized manner based on space indentation. Place major points farthest to the left. Indent each more specific point farther to the right (level of importance is indicated by distance away from left margin). Advantages The outlining method emphasizes content as well as relationships between the material. Also, it reduces the time needed for editing and allows for easy reviewing. Disadvantages This method requires more thought for accurate, understandable organization and, therefore, cannot be used during lectures that move too quickly. Example How to study from an outline:    I. Read through one line at a time          A. Explain the information and connect the idea to others presented    II. Check the accuracy of the information    III. Add clue words          A. Jot down keywords or details that you didn’t originally include in the outline          B. Use these keywords to jog your memory when studying from the outline    IV. Recite information from the outline......

Why one decides to buy versus renting, many are scared to comment. Paragraph 4: Reasons why renting may be better for some people. Show examples of reasons of why. Conclusion: These are reasons why buying is better for most people. I sequence my paragraphs in this order, because it made the most sense to me. Starting with reasons why buying is better, why buying is cheaper than renting, things you can not do when renting, and there are some people who should not buy yet. Doing it this way insures my essay to have less mistakes and make more sense. I think this outline gives me a good start and will insurer I stay on topic and in sequence with the way they should be. Starting with reasons why buying is better than renting just seemed to be the way to start, and will keep the readers interest. This is very important when writing or the reader will not read your story. Showing the outline this way keeps the flow and the paragraphs will go good together. The last paragraph states...
