A vast research from the 1950s to present has shown that 80% of people in the world today use antidepressants. These drugs correct chemical imbalances of neurotransmitters in the brain which probably cause changes in mood and behavior; however people have been overusing and abusing the use of antidepressants and I totally agree with the notion that people should never take antidepressants because it is has lots of side effects. The misuse of these drugs cause negative side effects to people both psychologically and physically. To begin with, these drugs are psychiatric medications which were initially made for patients with depressive disorders to alleviate symptoms but the continual use of it causes psychological side effects such as sexual dysfunction. Antidepressants cause sexual dysfunction and have adverse effects on sperm quality. Depression commonly causes problems in sexual functioning. However, many antidepressants make the problem worse, affecting sexual desire, arousal, and orgasm. The most widely studied and commonly prescribed antidepressants such as Celexa, Effexor, Paxil, and Prozac, have been found to increase the risk of sexual dysfunction by six times or more. Some antidepressants have been found to negatively impact sperm structure, volume, and mobility Furthermore there is also a wide range of significant physical effects caused by the use of antidepressants. One of which is; memory loss and seizures. Research has shown that one third of people using antidepressants suffer mostly from memory loss and seizures. For an instance, late Michael Jackson was fond of taking cocktail of antidepressants; this habit caused him seizures number of times long before a cardiac arrest which finally killed him. In summary, people should never use…...

People Should Be Lead Like Organisims

...Running head: LEAD PEOPLE LIKE ORGANISIMS Lead People Like Organisms Not Machines & Biblical Application to Roman 12:7 and Exodus 18:1-27 Daniel Fields Belhaven University MBA 682 Principles of Executive Leadership November 12, 2011 Leaders who desire to understand why and how people behave the way they do in the workplace must challenge his or her self to first develop an understanding of how people in an organization should be lead. To develop this understanding a leader can approach this subject by seeking to answer the question, “Should people be lead like they are machines or organisms?” Whichever side is taken to answer this question would significantly affect an individual’s ability to lead others. From an effective leader’s perspective, people are human beings and should not be treated as machines; therefore, they should be lead like organisms. People are living organisms with a variety of individual values, assumptions, beliefs, and expectations (VABEs). To take the approach of leading people like they are programmable machines will result in unsatisfactory visible behavior. This paper will discuss why leaders who use the organisms approach to leadership are more effective by contrasting machines and organisms (people), proving that people are organisms with similarities and differences, and discussing what motivate human behavior. People are living organisms born with two powerful legacies; a genetic inheritance and memes [ (Clawson,......

Should People Be Treated Equally in Society

...Should All People Be Treated Equally in a Society? Egalitarianism (from French égal, meaning "equal") - or, rarely, equalitarianism - is a trend of thought that favors equality for particular categories of, or for all, living entities ("Egalitarianism"). Egalitarian doctrines maintain that all humans are equal in fundamental worth or social status. Equity is probably one of the most fundamental values common to all people in a society. Equity can be elusive; however, it is usually defined in terms of how equals are treated by government policies and the legal system, and how we decide who these equals are. The concept of equality is multifaceted; the literature on theories of equality is immense and the application of these theories is complex. My definition of equality is the state or quality of being equal. Should people be truly treated equally? Can it ever be possible to achieve true equality even if we wanted to? No. It’s just not in our nature nor is it fair to the citizens around us. It hides people’s true talents, will cause chaos without the government, and it isn’t fair financially. Besides, no one, no country, or nothing’s perfect. We shouldn’t or can’t force everyone into thinking they’re equal and should be treated the same, it’s just never going to happen. In the novel Animal Farm (Orwell), Orwell writes about a world where animals overthrow the oppressive farmer Mr. Jones and try to construct a society based on the founding principal that all animals are......

Should People on Welfare Be Force to Work?

...Should people on welfare be force to work? In my personal opinion, I think welfare is good for people whom really need it, yet people on welfare should work. The reason being is I think some people become dependent on the system and welfare was created to assist people whom would like help, what I mean by,” like help,” I have watched a close friend of mine really struggle in the past and has not relied on welfare at all. Sure, with her being a single parent of four children she could have, yet she has chosen not to do so and is currently working three jobs not only to feed her four kids, but to also help herself get out of debt and pay bills. Currently, the system will give you a fish and feed you for the night, but the welfare system should do is also teach one how to fish so they are fed forever, so the welfare system should promote independence. Welfare is necessary for those individuals truly in temporary need, and those people truly in need are out there. However, there are just as many, if not significantly more individuals out there that manipulate and take advantage of the system. I think the welfare system should assist people on attending either a college or a trade school, or showing up at some type of job to be able to collect their welfare. there is no good way to control the problem of welfare fraud, but having to show up for a class or a job would may be help eliminate some of the fraud and It possibly would also......

Should People on Welfare Be Drug Tested

...There are many pros and cons regarding drug testing people before they are able to receive welfare benefits. Some people think it is a violation of their rights, the testing is not fail proof, and the cost is usually greater than the benefit. Those who are in favor of drug testing believe it will benefit the welfare system, help the tax payers save money and also help the children of the parents if they are using drugs. Government leaders and most of the general public look at it from a financial point of view while people who receive benefits look at it from a constitutional point of view. The government court system and judges are not backing the drug testing idea because of the fourth amendment. In my personal opinion I am for people being drug tested who receive benefits or any assistance from government funded programs. The middle class worker has to be drug tested to work, earn money and pay taxes. People who receive assistance should not be exempt from this type of requirement. What is Welfare? Welfare is a public assistance program designed to help people who are not able to support themselves fully. Welfare encompasses those government programs that provide benefits and economic assistance to no or low income individuals. It can also be defined as financial assistance to impoverished individuals which is supplied through the taxes paid by the working class. Improving the quality of life and living standards for the poor and underprivileged is one of the main goals......

...Antidepressants Work, so what’s the Problem Kurt Anderson Utah Valley University Course: Online English 2020 Instructor: Robert Crane Abstract Efficacy of antidepressants is under such scrutiny by the general public, because of a few scientists. Antidepressants are the most researched substance worldwide. The long history of research analysis proves the efficacy of antidepressants, but there are those who will falsely interpret clinical trials, or pool together selected studies to justify their claims. Scientists will agree that there are many flaws with antidepressant research, but with ever increasing new ways to re-test old research, the evidence of positive improvements are becoming harder to deny. Should People Donate Their Organs?

...Even though body organs are a scarce natural resource, we don’t think that our policy should be changed to allow automatic removal of the organs from a patient as soon as he or she dies. Meanwhile, relatives should not be allowed to veto a person’s advance instructions written in a living will. There are several problems. Firstly, people are affected by traditional concept or because of religious belief. They believe that people must retain a full corpse after they are dead. Secondly, if the policy changed to automatic removal of the organs from a patient, it means that everyone is forced to remove their organs for some uses such as donate the organs to help somebody in needs. Finally, it will cause social disorder from the objection of many people. Since not everyone agrees to remove their organs after they are dead, they will demonstrate to express their dissatisfaction. Should People on Welfare Be Forced to Work

...Should People on Welfare Be Forced to Work? With commonalities of abuse and complacency, welfare has been a topic of frustration for decades. Over the years, millions of Americans have received government assistance such as Medicaid, housing benefits, food stamps and even telephone services. Rather than setting forth the effort of self support, many of these individuals abuse the system and feel as though tax payers should contribute or “foot” their bills. Many welfare reform programs have been set in place however a change that last has yet to come, no change with the continuance of taxpayers being swindled of their hard earned money. Where is the line drawn, at what point is a complete stand taken in forcing these dependent individuals to work? Should the European Government Take in More Immigrants?

...At the moment there is a lot of press about how much support European countries should be giving to asylum seekers and refugees due to the crisis in Syria but it is also important to discuss the larger role of immigrants coming to Europe and whether European nations should be allowing a larger number into their borders. Taking the UK as an example it could seem obvious to people that with already a housing shortage with only 100 000 new houses being built every year, when according to university research to cope with an ever growing population 240 000 new homes are needed each year allowing a large number of immigrants in doesn't make sense. In fact the governor of the Bank of England, complained that housebuilding in the UK was half that of his native Canada, despite the UK having a population twice the size. The common metaphor of trying to fit a square peg in a round hole could be applied to these facts. There are also some more ignorant arguments often heard against immigration. Should People Seeking Government Assistance Be Required to Take Drug Tests?

...Should people seeking government assistance be required to take drug tests? INTRODUCTION On August 22, 1996, President Bill Clinton signed the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act, also known as the Welfare Reform Bill, into effect ending welfare as it had been known for many years. “This law transformed the traditional entitlement to cash welfare under Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) into a transitional program, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), which requires most recipients to work after two years of receiving assistance, or, at state option, even earlier, with few exceptions. After 60 months of receipt during a lifetime, a recipient is ineligible for federally-funded cash benefits (NPC, 2004)”. (1) The Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act shifted the responsibility of the poor to the states. The Act also made allowance for states to perform drug testing of those who were in need of federal assistance. According to an article in the New York Times “Policy makers in three dozen states this year proposed drug testing for people receiving benefits like welfare, unemployment assistance, job training, food stamps and public housing (Sulzberger, 2011) .” The controversy rising from the proposed drug testing has many debating the question: Should people seeking government assistance be required to take drug tests? PROs/CONs: There are several pros and cons to the new legislature to drug test those seeking......
