My Dream Vacation to Hawaii Ronna Farrell

Hawaii is the land of beautiful beaches, impressive waterfalls and so many different cultures. While you may think a trip to Hawaii is too expensive, I feel traveling is one of the most important things we can do as a family. Hawaii has so much to offer us including traveling between 3 primary islands and exploring what each island has to offer like hiking the waterfalls and visiting the Pearl Harbor memorial. You would love the surfing, snorkeling and all the water activities that come along with a trip to Hawaii. Even though all of you may feel a trip to Hawaii is too expensive, I feel traveling is one of the most important things I can do for the family. I don’t feel you can put a price tag on the quality time you get when you go on vacation and have the chance to make so many lasting memories. Taking the family on vacation to a place like Hawaii gives them first hand

information and the knowledge on how other people live and the cultures they live by. How will you ever be able to see and explore Hawaii unless you open up your mind to all the possibilities? The possibilities are endless when you have 3 great islands to explore. The first one we would be the visiting “The Heart of Hawaii” also known as Oahu is home to the war memorial Pearl Harbor, the USS Battleship Missouri, unforgettable Luau’s and wonderful cuisine. The next island that we would be visiting would be “The Magic Isle” also known as Maui, well known for a popular tour called Road to Hana this 2 lane road that is 68 miles of twisting and

turning roads up the mountains with the most beautiful scenery and cliffs to overlook. Maui is also home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I know one thing the whole family could not resist would be a helicopter tour flying over spectacular scenery including waterfalls, dormant volcanoes, lava flows, tropical rainforest and deep valleys below. The last island we would be visiting is called the “Island of Discovery” also known as Kauai, best known for its beautiful lush land and gorgeous scenery. We would be experiencing hiking through unbelievable waterfalls and biking down the side of a mountain this could be the adventure of a lifetime. Let’s talk about all the water activities that come along with a trip to Hawaii. How would you feel about going whale watching and seeing a huge humpback whale splash up next to the boat or go snorkeling with green moui see turtles? I know one thing that everyone would love to do is learn to surf and where else to learn to surf than the beautiful islands of Hawaii with the absolute best surfing and teachers you can find. You can ride the waves just like the natives. Next up is the beautiful beaches with different color sands from crystal clear sand to the darkest of black sand, with many in between from whites to pinks. Can you imagine how wonderful it would be to get to experience such a natural beauty? Cliff diving, who could forget that jumping off cliffs into the beautiful crystal clear water below, that would be an experience you would never forget. I know you feel a trip to Hawaii is too expensive, but like I have said you cannot put a price tag on the experience of travel and the wonderful memories that come along with it. Who wouldn’t want to go visit these beautiful islands? Explore all the natural beauty of the red canyons, waterfalls and beautiful beaches, to the historical memories of the memorial at Pearl Harbor and the USS Battleship Missouri. The unforgettable journey to the Road to Hana with all

the twisting and turning roads that look like you are going to go right off a cliff and the once in a lifetime opportunity to go to a Luau and see how another culture celebrates life and how Hawaiians show their love for people all over the world and how much they cherish their traditions and the love of their land. This is your chance for a dream vacation to the gorgeous islands of Hawaii a trip you will never forget with unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. I am sure I have given you more than enough reasons to jump up and down and tell

me you can’t wait to go on this amazing dream vacation. So who’s in?…...

...A fail in our streets People over 65 should not be permitted to drive because they are such a problem. Based on the statics of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration they are reported 30 million people over the age of 65 were licensed drivers in the U.S. This is 15 percent of all licensed drivers. John Kennedy, executive director of NSC Defensive Driving Programs said “With our senior driving population growing, there will be more drivers over the age of 65, potentially causing serious safety issues on our roads.” When people get older, they develop health diseases and corporal degenerate. Elderly people loss many of its abilities and they can react to the activities that normal happened in the roads. They are two main reasons that support my point: physical and mental illness. First, when people get older they start to develop some physical diseases that affect their capacity to drive. For example, loss of vision, arthritis or fatigue meanwhile they are driving. Elderly people can’t see the same things or the same distance through they are going older. Also, they have other health problems like arthritis. Just imagine that a senior cause you an accident and then you know that the cause of the accident was that the old man has arthritis. It not was his fault, is fault of the authorities that permitted that people that aren’t in conditions to drive manage in our streets. Persuassive Essay: Sexual Education in Public Schools

...In 1597, Sir Francis Bacon said, “Knowledge is power” and if that is true, then the more we know, the more choices a person can make on their own and the more individual power a person has. For children, trusted adults information is the “be all to end all” and usually the younger they are, the less questions are asked. This is helpful if the information being received is always correct, but in some cases it is not and that wrong information can spread like wildfire among young people. With sexual-education in public schools, students can be taught the correct material so that they can be educated and use their knowledge as power. I went to school in Washington state, and when we got to a certain age we age-appropriate sexual education. A permission slip was signed by my mother, and at approximately 12 years old, boys and girls were separated with familiar teachers and classmates of the same gender and taught about how our bodies were changing. Females learned about menstrual cycles, pads and “why tampons really do fit” while the males learned about why they were getting hair in places they didn’t before, and why their bodies were changing in different ways as well. I was among classmates who were my friends and teachers who I trusted and we were allowed to ask questions like “Does it hurt?” and “Does my brother know about this?” Samples were given out for us to see, feel and understand and alleviated the possibility of the wrong information getting in to our sponges of......

...There are some teachers who are going to require you to write a 250 word essay. Actually, it is a very short essay for that matter but for some students, it may also be a burden to have a word limit in writing. Let us take a look at the scenarios that you need to understand to compose a well developed essay. For some students, it may be limiting to have a word factor quota in writing an article. There are some individuals who can tell more out of a topic and that having 250 words will not suffice to tell everything in their minds. That is why you need to have the skills in budgeting the words that you have to write without sacrificing the ideas that you have to deliver. There are different essay types that you also need to consider so having a word limit cannot simply be an easy task. Still for some students, a 250 word essay may mean too much because there are also some people who do not want to waste their time writing. No matter what the essay structure may be, these types of people are not really eager to translate their thoughts to written form so they think 250 words simply equates to too much work. Anyway, you need to understand that having this kind of limit will eventually benefit the students as they improve their discipline, being responsible and being resourceful individuals. Essay

...An essay is usually a short piece of writing. It is often written from an author's personal point of view. Essays can be literary criticism, political manifestos, learned arguments, observations of daily life, recollections, and reflections of the author. The definition of an essay is vague, overlapping with those of an article and a short story. Almost all modern essays are written in prose, but works in verse have been dubbed essays (e.g. Alexander Pope's An Essay on Criticism and An Essay on Man). While brevity usually defines an essay, voluminous works like John Locke's An Essay Concerning Human Understanding and Thomas Malthus's An Essay on the Principle of Population provide counterexamples. It is very difficult to define the genre into which essays fall. Aldous Huxley, a leading essayist, gives guidance on the subject: Like the novel, the essay is a literary Abstract This article will examine the reasons why it is important both linguistically and psychologically to build a vocabulary quickly when learning a foreign language. The article asserts that very little can be achieved or learned in a foreign language with a small vocabulary and that by building a sizable vocabulary quite quickly one can soon be able to function adequately. Abortion Persuassive Essay

...Patricia Saralegui-Carr PHI 105 June 21, 2014 Corey Hunt Abortion Controversy: Women’s Right or Legalized Murder? Abortion is one of the most controversial debates of the century. Everyone knows someone who has been pregnant or debating having an abortion. There are plenty of reasons why women feel they need to terminate their pregnancy. The following information is for those who believe that abortion is the solution to their problem. Yes abortion is a legal solution to an unwanted pregnancy. Many pro-choice activists will argue the claim that it is a safe and relatively painless procedure. Abortions are morally and ethically wrong because they kill innocent unborn fetuses who have the right to life.  During pregnancy, women give the unborn fetus the right to use their bodies. Abortion should be illegal because they defy the sanctity of human life, deny the mother the alternatives to having an abortion, and cause psychological side effects. Millions of people have died trying to defend their country, their freedom, and their families. Victims have been remembered through speeches and memorials, but why are those who seek justice for victims the same ones who defy the sanctity of human life and approve abortions. Let’s look in the Bible to see what is said about abortion. People can argue that it is unfair to quote the Bible on God’s view on abortion. Well, it is unfair because God is the creator of life. It is seen as a blessing to have children and a curse......

Star Wars Persuassive Essay

...Star Wars, a legacy that has been around since 1977. Star Wars truly stood the test of time in many ways: a wide fan base, well written story, and a lot of content. The fan base for Star Wars is rampant with the amount of people that adore Star Wars. The fan base starts with the older generation which is the group that saw the first three movies (A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi) which are called the sequels. George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, knew how to draw people in by the story. The most noticeable things about Star Wars is the opening crawl text, the film scores, and Darth Vader’s voice/ breathing. Then to the second generation of Star Wars fans which were around during the prequels (The Phantom Menace, The Clone Wars, and Revenge of the Sith). The Phantom Menace came out in 1999. These movies had a lot of CGI (Computer Generated Images). It advanced technology because they did what some people couldn’t in film making. The older generation was still around when these came out and were still hyped about more Star Wars and the origin of some of the characters stories. Now we have new movies with Disney buying LucasFilm. These will affect the third generation. The only movie we know of continuing from Return of the Jedi is The Force Awakens which comes out in less than a month. Just from the trailers it shows a very well written story. People bought movies theaters out in less than a day when they were able to be purchased. It’s rare for......

Carvalho: I have been concerned with what is happening to our children these last few years. Childhood obesity is becoming more prominent and should be on your priority list. I am currently a Registered Nurse enrolled in the University of Phoenix to obtain my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. I have become more aware of my community and through different assessment in the assignments; I have had the chance to identify some of the different characteristics within my community that could adversely affect the health of the population. Childhood obesity is one of the factors that caught the most of my attention. My job now is to respectfully ask for conscientiousness and to educate the Board Members of precipitating factors that are contributing to this countywide epidemic. With rising costs and a slowing economy, I commend your efforts to explore additional ways the Dade County School Board can implement a more cost-effective margin with the various food programs you have recently implemented. As you know, there are always pros and cons to everything. During my community assessment, the main factor that was noticed was how obesity is presently harming and affecting our community’s health. ...Persuasive Essay ------------------------------------------------- Top of Form Bottom of Form COMM 215 July 16, 2012 I am sure that everyone is aware or heard of the harmful effects of smoking. So why do you continue to do it? Why did you ever start? There are multiple reasons why you should not smoke. Three major reasons are the effect on your health, others health and the cost. The most important reason you should not smoke is the effect that it has on your health and the health of others. Smoking affects your body in so many different ways. Though the negative effects may not be noted in the beginning, but it will follow in the future. Smoking causes diseases such as cancer of not only the lung, but bladder, throat, liver, oral cancers, emphysema, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary disease, heart disease and is also linked to diabetes. It also causes dental cavities, gum disease, bad breath and makes your skin look old very quickly. The second reason you should not smoke is the costs. Costs of cigarettes have risen drastically of the past decade. A pack of cigarettes costs on average range from five to ten dollars per pack. Due to the increase in taxes, that is so much money just thrown down the drain. Don’t you think? Think about that new car, new clothes, vacations and so forth you could have bought with all the money thrown away on a pack of cigarettes. If you put that five or ten dollars in a jar......
