1. The aftermath of Typhoons and monsoon: DepEd oblige schools to do make-up classes after a row of class suspensions last week
• A big part of Luzon has been flooded due to southwest monsoon caused by typhoon Falcon last week. The bad weather condition affects schools, colleges and universities in metro manila and in different parts of Luzon that suspends classes for 3 consecutive days. It is to ensure the safety and security of the students. In return, the students will have to compensate all the suspensions with make-up classes to complete the 201 calendar year imposed by DepEd. School division superintendents will be the one to decide what type of make-up classes will they implement. It’s either make-up classes that will fall during weekends, or by simply extending the class hours during weekdays. These make-up classes are effective for both public and private schools.
• It is interesting because I can relate to the topic. As a college student, I am personally involved and concerned with the issue and it has a direct effect on me.
• I don’t have any negative reaction on this issue since It’s caused by natural calamities and no one wants it to happen, so make-up classes is a good alternative. I think same goes for college students like us. It’s just right to have make-up classes because we’re paying a big amount of money and we will just get nothing in return? So those 3 days is a huge loss for us and we need to take them back through these make-up classes. My other concern is the late declaration of class suspension last week. 7 in the morning is the usual start of classes, so it is expected that students are already at school before that given time, and then all of a sudden they will suspend the class by 9am? What I’m trying to point out here is that, students wake up early in the morning just to go to school, and the parents will give snacks or money as…...

...RUNNING HEAD: IM/IT Analysis IM/IT Analysis Barbara C. Hagerman Dr. Chad Moretz Health Information Systems July 29, 2012 1. Discuss the five (5) major components of information management/information technology (IM/IT) governance with a focus on how they will collectively improve the quality of health care. IM/IT governance helps the organization make business decisions more accurately and in a timelier manner (Glandon, Smaltz, Slovensky, 2008). In order to complete this, five general guidelines were created. They are as follows: Develop a consistent IT strategy, Align IT Planning with Organizational Planning, Develop IT Infrastructure, Architecture and Policies, Set IT Project Priorities and Oversee Investments and Be able to assess IT’s contribution. In order to develop a consistent IT strategy, the plan created must apply across all operating units within the organization. Next, the plan must align with IT planning and organizational planning. Alignment would involve three essential elements for success. First, an alignment of purpose must be in place. IM/IT leadership and organizational leadership must agree that they are trying to achieve the same ends. Second, they must agree to work to develop goals and tactics jointly to meet those ends. Third, these two groups must share the responsibility and accountability to achieve the ends (Stacey, Skinner, 2005). Because plans may change over a period of time,......

...IM/IT Analysis Patricia D. Barringer Strayer University Health Services Administration HSA 599 Dr. Kadrie Mountasser April 29, 2012 IM/IT Analysis The issue of public health and its subsequent impact on society as a whole is becoming a very contentious issues for government. In the midst of an election year, public health issues such as Medicare, social security, and disease prevention are all becoming more prevalent. In the state of New Jersey, public health is no different in this regard. According to U.S. Public Health Service, over the last century, the average life span of an America grew by 30 years. 25 of those years are attributed to an increase in public health services. As such, decisions make by governments on the federal, state, and local level will have a profound impact on the community. First, as is the case with many communities, state governments rely heavily on tax revenue as their primary source of income. In the midst of a global recession, those entities that rely heavily on income tax revenue ultimately suffer as those who provide the tax revenue are unemployed. Further compounding this issue is that fact that many individuals who were formally employed full time are now employed part time. As such, their taxable income is significantly diminished. With this diminished revenue, budgets must ultimately be cut to correspond to the reduced inflow of revenue. Now in regards to expenditures two-thirds of spending is for personal......

Ways to Be More Confident

...8 Ways to Be More Confident: Live the Life of Your Dreams By Lori Deschene “With realization of one’s own potential & self confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.” ~Dalai Lama For the vast majority of my life I didn’t believe I could do most of the things I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to be in a relationship, but I feared that if I got into one I’d do something to mess it up. I wanted to perform on Broadway, but even moving to New York City didn’t give me the courage to audition. I wanted to be a writer, but I thought it was far too difficult to get published, and therefore didn’t even try until I turned 27. Maybe you’ve never been as unsure of yourself as I used to be, but you can likely relate to that feeling of wanting to do something but feeling terrified to start[->1]. This not only limits your potential in life; it also minimizes your ability to make a positive impact on the world around you. There’s a lot that goes into overcoming those fears. You may need to challenge limiting beliefs formed years ago, or take yourself out of a situation where other people undermine your abilities. One thing that will definitely help is working on your confidence. Not sure if confidence can be learned? I asked this question[->2] on the Tiny Buddha Facebook page[->3] to see what readers had to say and then used some of their responses to shape these 8 steps outlined below: 1. Tap into the confidence you were born with. I feel it’s something that is......

Wilson (University of Sheffield), information management refers to how information is acquired, organized, controlled and disseminated (Wilson). Indeed, information management has long been existed and “living” with us. Experts have different comments on Information management models. Some said models are typically wrong in nature but somehow useful (Box & Draper 1987). To summarise the features of IM model, it could be the representation of structure or diagnostic tool (HKU). This essay introduces four information management models and how they are involved in daily life. Each model would be illustrated with certain examples to let readers have a better understanding. ...Leroy Thomas HIS 211 Topic A Jimmy Hampton June 2, 2014 Jonathan Edwards evoked vivid, terrifying images of the utter corruption of human nature and the terrors awaiting the unrepentant in hell. Jonathan Edwards’s famous description of the sinner as a loathsome spider suspended by a slender thread over a pit of seething brimstone in his best known sermon, “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.”(1741) The First Great Awakening also gained impetus from the wide-ranging American travels of an English preacher, George Whitefield. Although Whitefield had been ordained as a minister in the Church of England, he later allied with other Anglican clergymen who shared his evangelical bent, most notably John and Charles Wesley. Together they led a movement to reform the Church of England (much as the Puritans had attempted earlier to reform that church) which resulted in the founding of the Methodist Church late in the eighteenth century. During his several trips across the Atlantic after 1739, Whitefield preached everywhere in the American colonies, often drawing audiences so large that he was obliged to preach outdoors. What Whitefield preached was nothing more than what other Calvinists had been proclaiming for centuries that sinful men and women were totally dependent for salvation on the mercy of a pure, all-powerful God. But Whitefield and many American preachers who eagerly imitated his style presented that message in novel ways. Gesturing dramatically, sometimes......

...Topic 1: What career would you like to choose after leaving school Model answer: Today, it is not easy to choose a career. Hundreds of students pass various examinations every year and compete with one another for positions in the various professions which are not so many as there are applicants. I would, however, like to choose teaching as my career. Teaching is an interesting career for several reasons. As a teacher I can learn many things, especially if I teach to an udder-secondary school. If I teach History or English, for example, I have to read many books to make my teaching lessons more interesting to my pupils. Thus, I can acquire more knowledge of the subjects that I teach than what I can learn from the class text books. It is indeed a fact that a teacher learns a lot from the class text books; but that is hardly enough to make the teacher's lessons interesting to pupils. A good teacher must therefore read many other books. Again, as a teacher, I have to speak well so that my pupils will be able to understand my instructions well. In this way I can improve my powers of expression. Even my pronunciation of words will improve to great extent. Further, as a teacher, I shall have enough leisure to read and prepare for various examinations. It is possible today to sit for many important examinations by studying entirely at home. Thus, I can acquire important qualifications. Finally, as a teacher I will be respected as an educated person. People will......
